Job Description Location: 1550 7th St NW Suite C, Washington, DC 20001 The Role: The Front Desk Team Lead role blends hospitality, organization, and leadership to ensure every student, teacher, and guest feels welcomed, supported, and informed. You will oversee front desk operations, mentor desk staff, and act as the on-site point person during your shifts - helping the studio run smoothly and feel grounded. Key Responsibilities Studio & Guest Experience • Create a warm, inclusive, and professional front-desk environment, • Greet students, check in clients, and assist with sales of memberships, classes, and retail, • Handle day-to-day customer questions with clarity and empathy Maintain & Enhance the Studio Presence • Open and/or close the studio as scheduled, • Manage POS system and daily reconciliation, • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the common areas, • Communicate schedule changes, cancellations, or issues to teachers and management, • Support studio events, as needed, • Develop and implement systems to reduce waste and automate supply tracking/ordering, • Take ownership in the functionality of the studio and the physical space, and act as a liaison between students and the Owner, as needs arise Team Leadership • Model studio policies, professionalism, and excellent communication, • Communicate all UDYC policies, initiatives, and protocols for staff members through the lens of UDYC values and position policies, • Train and lead current and future UDYC front desk personnel in appropriate opening, closing, and class presence protocols to meet standards of excellence, health, and safety, • Take full ownership of Front Desk hiring, onboarding/training, and termination processes, • Design and execute a scalable training program (including pre-recorded modules), • Oversee operations of the Front Desk staff substitute coordination schedule - support pre-planned time off, absences, and substitutions with weekly management and team outreach Grow the Business • Provide solution-oriented feedback to the Owner to enhance the customer experience, • Support the social media presence under the lead of the Social Media Manager/Digital Marketing Manager with attention to staff developments/successes, student developments/success, UDYC events Skills and Experience • Must demonstrate UDYC values: Community, Energy, Everyone, • Excellent oral communication skills, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills, • Minimum of 1 year in customer service-oriented role required, • Familiar and comfortable in studio systems such as point of sale systems and company scheduling, • Ability to build relationships with individuals with diverse personalities and styles and at different levels of seniority, • Proven self-starter with ability to take on new projects with enthusiasm, • Ability to move around the studio space, crouch, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs Additional Preferred Skills and Experience • Mindbody, Slack, • Certificate of completion from an in-person 200-hour registered yoga teacher training Fine Print • Availability: Must match the needs of the business and leadership zig-zag schedules – morning, evening, weekend, and some holiday availability and flexibility required, • Starting Schedule:, • In-studio shifts: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays: 11:30AM - 1:30PM [10 hours/wk], • Online studio support: 1-3 hours/wk, • Attire: Clean, polished, and studio-appropriate; Athletic or athleisure wear encourage; Professional, comfortable, and guest-ready at all times, • Other Duties As Assigned: This job description is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, efforts, or working conditions associated with the job.
