American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/12/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in a Level I Trauma, teaching hospital with EPIC EMR and floating requirements. • Work in a Level I Trauma Emergency Department with 43 ED beds and 20 boarding beds, • Patients include trauma, chest pain, stroke, respiratory, cardiac, mental health, and complex medical cases, • Nurse-to-patient ratio is up to 1:5 depending on acuity and assignment, • Travelers most often cover ED Holds as Med/Tele RNs, • Required to float to multiple hospital sites within the region, covering Resource Team needs as necessary, • Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors, • Every other weekend scheduling required, • No call required for travelers, • Travelers must work at least 75% of the holidays as assigned, • Responsibilities include care of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and complex medical patients, and management of patients boarding in the ED, • Support is provided by CNA staff, receptionists, charge nurses, and 24/7 ancillary departments including respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist, • Nurses independently interpret telemetry and respond directly as there are no monitoring techs, • Orientation includes hospital and departmental training days, • Scrub color is navy, • Free parking is provided, • Up to 6 days of requested time off may be approved, excluding holidays, • First-time travelers will be considered but are not preferred, • Active NC or compact RN license required, • Minimum of 2 years recent ED or Med/Tele RN experience, with most recent experience within the last 12 months, • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ED RNs also require PALS and CPI, TNCC preferred, • Experience with trauma, stroke, cardiac monitoring, conscious sedation, IV and PIV starts, drain/tube management, and critical drips administration, • Experience with EPIC EMR is required, • Must reside at least 50 miles from the home unit due to radius rule, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-622714.
