Summary The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production in a high-mix, precision contract manufacturing environment. This role ensures that daily operations meet customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery, while also driving continuous improvement and developing the shop floor team. The manager provides leadership to production supervisors, machinists, and operators, ensuring alignment between production output, customer demand, and company goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production Leadership • Manage daily production operations across multiple shifts to meet delivery schedules., • Monitor shop floor performance, address bottlenecks, and allocate resources effectively., • Ensure production teams follow standard work, safety procedures, and quality requirements., • Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors, leads, and operators., • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement., • Translate customer demand and MRP/ERP schedules into daily/weekly production plans., • Drive shop floor adherence to production plans while maintaining flexibility for high-mix orders., • Monitor KPIs such as machine utilization, throughput, and labor efficiency., • Collaborate with Engineering and Programming to reduce setup times and improve process flow., • Identify opportunities for automation and capacity expansion., • Ensure on-time delivery and quality performance to meet customer expectations., • Provide production updates and performance metrics to senior leadership., • Support customer audits and visits with a focus on operational excellence., • Partner with Program Managers, Engineering, and Quality on new product launches and production readiness. Qualifications Education & Experience • Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience., • 710+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in contract manufacturing, aerospace, medical device, or precision machining., • Strong understanding of CNC machining, assembly, and production workflows., • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and production planning., • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, OEE, and continuous improvement tools., • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills., • Safety performance (zero recordable incidents)., • Quality (Scrap, Rework indices), • On-time delivery performance., • Production efficiency (Machine Utilization, throughput, planned vs actual, labor utilization)., • Employee engagement, retention, and development., • Customer satisfaction and audit performance.
