PDS Tech Commercial is hiring Gas Meter Exchange Technicians to support an Energy Aged Gas Meter Project in the Nashville area. This long-term opportunity involves field-based gas meter installations and safety inspections. If you’re mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and ready to work outdoors, this is a great chance to join a high-impact utility project with full training and support provided. Key Responsibilities: • Read and remove existing residential gas meters, • Perform gas leak tests using company-provided equipment, • Repair leaks and build gas meter loops, • Install new gas meters and replace regulators as needed, • Conduct final meter tests and document installations using a handheld device, • Shut down and relight gas appliances safely, • Identify hazardous or abnormal operating conditions, • Communicate professionally with utility customers, • Meet daily installation goals and maintain high safety and quality standardsRequired Qualifications:, • High School Diploma or GED, • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, • Ability to pass a pre-employment MVR check, background check, and DOT PHMSA-compliant drug screen, • Physical ability to work outdoors for up to 10 hours/day in various weather conditions, • Ability to use hand tools requiring upper body force up to 30 lbs, • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently, • Adherence to all Federal, State, and Local driving and safety regulationsPreferred Qualifications:, • Experience in natural gas field service operations, • Prior experience installing or repairing gas meters, • Pay Rate: 22.00/hour, • Shift: First Shift | 5x8s | Overtime as needed, • Project Duration: 2+ years, • Provided by Company:, • Operator Qualification (OQ) training and certifications This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
