Job Description Position Purpose: The Registration Clerk serves as the first point of contact for individuals accessing services through the Harm Reduction Program. This role is vital in ensuring a welcoming, radically hospitable, and trauma-informed environment for clients experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and serious mental illness. The Registration Clerk will handle client intake, eligibility verification, data entry, and service coordination, while maintaining a flexible, participant-centered approach to engagement. This position requires adaptability, compassion, and a strong commitment to harm reduction principles, as it involves working in non-traditional clinical settings such as outdoor park-lets, drop-in spaces, and other informal service locations. About the Crocker Care Campus & Harm Reduction Model: The Crocker Care Campus is a patient-centered space designed as a welcoming drop-in site for people who use drugs and those experiencing homelessness. It provides a safe, accessible environment focused on hospitality, community, and comprehensive care. Unlike traditional clinics, Crocker operates with flexibility, prioritizing low-barrier engagement and participant autonomy over rigid structures. Principal Responsibilities: • Engage clients in a welcoming and nonjudgmental manner, ensuring a safe and supportive experience., • Perform client intake, eligibility verification, and registration for program services., • Assist clients in completing necessary forms, providing clear explanations of program services and requirements., • Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA compliance., • Adjust registration practices to meet client needs—including roaming check-ins in locations where participants feel most comfortable (not strictly at a front desk)., • Accurately enter and update client information in the electronic health record (EHR) system., • Maintain up-to-date service utilization records, ensuring accurate data collection for reporting and program evaluation., • Generate and review daily reports to ensure data integrity., • Answer incoming calls and provide information about program services., • Schedule and confirm client appointments with case managers and healthcare providers., • Assist with coordinating referrals to housing, medical, mental health, and social services., • Support administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, and documentation., • Work closely with case managers, harm reduction specialists, and outreach teams to identify client needs and facilitate service access., • Provide clients with harm reduction supplies, program materials, and resource referrals., • Assist with crisis intervention, notifying appropriate staff when urgent client needs arise., • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming client-centered space, including outdoor service areas., • High school diploma or GED required., • 1-2 years of experience in registration, front desk, or administrative support, preferably in a healthcare or social services setting., • Desire to work in a non-traditional clinical setting, including providing services in outdoor park-lets, drop-in spaces, and other non-clinical areas., • Understanding of (or willingness to learn) trauma-informed principles and how they apply to client engagement., • Ability to remain flexible and adjust duties to accommodate participants’ needs (e.g., performing check-ins in informal locations rather than requiring clients to come to a front desk)., • Strong computer and data entry skills, including proficiency in EHR and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)., • Excellent customer service and communication skills., • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
