Job DescriptionDescription: The Training Manager is responsible for developing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs that support goop kitchen’s growth. This role supports the training of all new shift leads and managers —both hired and promoted—and ensures they are equipped to lead high-performing restaurants grounded in safety, quality, consistency, and people-first leadership. The Training Manager also supports team member development by supporting systems, tools, and resources that strengthen skills at every level. In addition, this role builds and implements scalable operational tools and training programs, supports new restaurant openings, and leads the rollout of new processes, products, and recipes. Training & Development • Lead new manager orientation and provide a structured, consistent onboarding experience aligned to brand standards and operational excellence., • Build and manage training schedules, ensuring every manager receives a clear, organized training plan before their first day., • Create, refine, and distribute training manuals, playbooks, tools, and job aids that support scalable, repeatable learning., • Keep all training materials current as new menu items, recipes, equipment, or processes are introduced., • Deliver hands-on training that teaches managers how to execute daily restaurant operations, including food safety, sanitation, quality, labor management, and hospitality., • Coach and mentor new managers throughout their first year, giving actionable feedback that drives performance and long-term success. Operational Excellence & Rollouts • Partner with Culinary, Operations, and L&D leadership to train teams on new processes, product launches, menu updates, and operational changes., • Ensure team members and managers understand and can execute food safety, cleanliness, labor laws, workplace safety, and all company policies., • Develop and improve operational tools, checklists, SOPs, and systems that enhance efficiency and consistency across all restaurants., • Support continuous improvement by identifying training gaps, proposing solutions, and aligning teams around best practices.New Restaurant Openings (NRO), • Facilitate onboarding and training for new location openings, supporting the setup of training systems, staffing plans, and operational readiness., • Coordinate and participate in on-site NRO visits with CDCs and support partners to ensure new restaurants open safely, smoothly, and aligned with goop kitchen standards.Cross-Functional Collaboration, • Work closely with Operations leadership and Support Center teams to provide ongoing operational support and training as needed., • Conduct regular restaurant visits to reinforce training standards, support developing leaders, and identify opportunities for coaching or system improvements., • Record and report training progress, readiness, and performance insights to key stakeholders.Administrative & Budget Management, • Prepare and manage training budgets, ensuring resources are used efficiently and responsibly., • Maintain accurate training records, documentation, and progress reports.Requirements: Training & Leadership • Exceptional training, coaching, and talent development skills., • Strong ability to teach, simplify complex systems, and influence behavior change., • Experience developing tools, SOPs, training materials, and scalable learning systems. Operational Expertise • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, food safety, sanitation, product quality, and labor management., • Hands-on operations background with the ability to train teams in real-time, fast-paced environments., • Ability to diagnose performance gaps and implement training or operational solutions. Communication & Relationship Building • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization., • Approachable, collaborative, and able to build trust quickly., • Able to effectively partner with Operations, Culinary, HR, and Support Center teams. Skills & Attributes • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously., • Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency., • Flexible, adaptable, and energized by change and growth., • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred., • Minimum of 5 years experience in training, operations, or multi-unit restaurant leadership., • Experience in fast-casual, QSR, or multi-unit concepts strongly preferred. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week., • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours per day., • Ability to travel regularly for training, restaurant support, and new restaurant openings, • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, carrying, and fine manipulation., • Ability to work in warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors., • Ability to tolerate noise and common allergens (peanut, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, shellfish).
