Job Description Overview The Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) serves as an experienced subject matter leader and expert in staffing, clinical certifications, evidence-based practice, scope of practice, regulatory standards, clinical and payor guidelines, standards for certification and accreditation and operations. Leading effectively and resourcefully with operations management in a changing rehab and outpatient therapy regulatory environment. The Director of Rehab directs, plans and evaluates clinical practice, functional outcomes, fiscal responsibility, and change management in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology. Other areas of responsibility may include Motion Analysis, Inpatient Rehabilitation Units, Subacute Units, Sports Medicine, Child Life, Recreation Therapy, and Orthotics and Prosthetics. The DOR works closely and productively with other Directors of Rehabilitation, as well as, SHC Headquarters leadership and staff in support of building and sustaining an SHC standardized system of therapy services and processes. The pay range for this position is $111,321.60 - $190,840/annually. Compensation is determined based on experience and equity. Responsibilities • Provides effective leadership to a multidisciplinary staff comprised of licensed therapists, assistants, and unlicensed auxiliary staff, • Directs, organizes and evaluates clinical practice determining work-flow processes, tasks, and procedures to maximize efficiency, productivity, safety, and evidence-based best practice across service lines, • Projects and meets the appropriate staffing and scheduling needs of the patients, staff, facility, and community while meeting regulatory requirements, • Sets expectations, clinical competency and standards of practice, • Collaborates with staff, multidisciplinary team, and administration in the delivery of timely patient/family centered care, • Aligns the goals of the department with the strategic goals of the facility and SHC system, • Meets standards for accreditation and certifications (i.e. CARF, GAIT, Rehab Agency, CORF, ORF, and Joint Commission), • Communicates effectively with local leadership, medical staff, and headquarters rehabilitation, revenue cycle, revenue integrity and/or compliance regarding reports or proposed process changes, • Leads effective clinical practice activities in areas assigned, provides direct clinical patient care for discipline of origin as needed Qualifications Required • Bachelor Physical Therapy, • Master's Physical Therapy, • 5 years of previous leadership, and/or management experience in a therapy or rehab setting, • Demonstrated experience in revenue cycle, coding, reconciliation, documentation, billing and prior authorization of third party payors to include letters of medical necessity, • Medicaid experience, • Licensed in state of practice, • Basic Life Support (BLS), • Doctorate Physical Therapy, • Previous pediatric experience in pediatric orthopedics, burns, and/or inpatient rehabilitation

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: Incumbent functions as a Substance Use Dependency Professional Trainee on an agency treatment team with specialized experience, training, and skills in the treatment of chemically dependent persons. The SUDPT is under the supervision of the Licensure & Training Coordinator and unit Program Manager. The SUDPT plans and carries out treatment activities selecting their own approaches with guidance from the Licensure & Training Coordinator. Consultation is provided by appointment, informal contacts and regularly scheduled team meetings. GUIDELINES: The Substance Use Dependency Professional must meet the requirements in RCW 18.205 and WAC 246-811. The SUDPT relies on specialized training and/or equivalent experience in the field of Substance Use dependency treatment, DBHR, Washington Administrative Codes, Revised Codes of Washington, and performance standards developed for the position. COMPLEXITY: The incumbent counsels clients who differ widely in age and socioeconomic status and who may possess a variety of chronic and serious social, behavioral and psychological problems. Problems frequently encountered may include a history of varied and complicated criminal activities, mild to serious emotional disorders, a chronic absence of job skills or career goals, serious family maladjustments, poor education, and inadequate interpersonal communication skills. In this position the Substance Use Dependency Professional Trainee is required to assess the psycho social functioning of the client to develop and implement a treatment plan appropriate to the identified and unique needs of the client under the supervision of the Licensure & Training Coordinator. To accomplish this, the SUDPT must be capable of developing a variety of treatment approaches for insight development, problem solving, and appropriate confrontation to assist the client to assume a Substance Use free lifestyle. Autonomy, clinical maturity, sound judgment, and creativity are required to help identify and monitor policies and treatment activities that will meet the complex needs of the clients. SCOPE AND EFFECT: The scope of activity is to assess, motivate and treat chemically dependent persons. The incumbent facilitates problem resolution by means of insight development, appropriate confrontation of behavioral problems and communication problems in the context of individual counseling and group therapy teaching. S/he utilizes a variety of community resources to address the complex range of client problems. The goal is to help the client eliminate the use of chemicals, develop alternatives to substance abuse, and commit him or herself to a viable recovery/rehabilitation plan. This is done in part by establishing and maintaining a therapeutic environment that is conducive to personal growth in the client. PERSONAL CONTACT: Contacts are with members of the treatment team, clients, significant others of the clients, administrative supervisory and clerical personnel, employers, representatives of various community agencies specializing in the treatment of chemical abuse, related community representatives including lawyers, parole officers, and other court officials. All personal contacts are carried out in accordance with federal and state laws dealing with the confidentiality of alcohol and drug abuse client/patient records. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak clearly, hear and use hands and fingers to manipulate writing utensils and keys on a keyboard. POSITON TITLE: Behavioral Health Technician Non-Exempt Position RESPONSIBLE TO: Program Director MAJOR DUTIES: The Behavioral Tech Position works under the supervision of the Program Director. This position provides counseling and case management for individuals at the Involuntary Treatment Program. The Behavioral Health Technician will be responsible for providing specialized intervention and short-term intervention services to adults and older adults experiencing co-occurring acute behavioral health crisis that resulted in involuntary detention, with the goal of stabilization within the least restrictive setting. This position provides clinical services to patients. In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following duties independently: • Ensuring the care, safety, and supervision of residents on the therapeutic milieu through positive interactions and direct pro-active supervision., • Utilize individualized care appropriate to the specific needs and strengths of residents. Utilize appropriate limit setting and resolution focused de-escalation techniques., • Monitor, implement and support the milieu/program and schedule., • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior. POSITION: Clinical Program Director (Exempt) MAJOR DUTIES: The Clinical Program Director works closely with the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is responsible for the provision of clinical services to patients enrolled in their assigned programs. This position provides program oversight and clinical supervision for necessary clinical staff in their assigned programs including clinical service delivery, maintenance of patient records, contract compliance, financial management, public relations, and liaison with various government and private agencies and officials. This position is a member of the Management Team. In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following duties independently: • Review Washington Administrative Codes (WACs) and Revised Codes (RCWs) and Federal regulations pertaining to substance use disorder and mental health treatment and develop and implement policies and procedures to comply with said codes and regulations;, • Ensure that continuous quality improvement addresses both patient needs and compliance with WACs, RCWs, CARF and Federal Regulations;, • Ensure that the agency treatment programs are maintained in such a way to be in substantial compliance with Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) ;, • Prepares and submits statistical reports to the CCO for program compliance with contract performance indicators;, • Provides clinical supervision of treatment services including case staffing, chart entries, case audits, and treatment plan reviews;, • Assist with Orientation of all new staff to their assigned region;, • Ensure compliance with all applicable Lifeline Connections contracts and policies and procedures;, • Prepare and present in-service training to staff in order to meet the needs of the changing trends in substance use disorder and mental health treatment;, • In conjunction with the CFO, ensure that assigned programs are financially stable;, • Provide direct services to patients as needed; and, • Other duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • Active Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) Credential, meet the requirements of an approved supervisor per WAC 246-811-049 and bachelor’s degree required. A masters’ degree or further advanced degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred., • 3 years supervisory experience;, • Previous documented experience working with an understanding of statistical methods, managing budgets, supervision of personnel and program management., • Current unencumbered driver license and proof of current car insurance may be required;, • Good verbal and written communication skills., • Great attendance; and, • Ability to work well with others. GUIDELINES: The position requires that the incumbent maintain certification or qualification standards for the position. The incumbent relies on specialized training and/or equivalent experience in the field of substance use disorder and mental health treatment, DBHR, CARF, WACs and RCWs of Washington and the performance standards developed for the position. COMPLEXITY: The incumbent provides program oversight and supervision to patients who differ widely in age and socioeconomic status and who may possess a variety of chronic and serious social, behavioral and psychological problems. Further, s/he provides supervision for chemical dependency and mental health counselors, counselor interns, and students. Autonomy, clinical maturity, sound judgment, and creativity are required to help identify and monitor policies and treatment activities that will meet the complex needs of both patients and staff. PERSONAL CONTACTS: Contacts are with members of the treatment team, patients, significant others of the patients, Board of Directors/Advisory Boards, representatives of various community agencies specializing in the treatment of behavioral health and related community representatives including lawyers, probation officers, and other court officials. All personal contacts are carried out in accordance with federal and state laws dealing with the confidentiality of behavioral health patient records. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak clearly, hear and use hands and fingers to manipulate writing utensils and keys on a keyboard.
