Job Description Be Part Of A High-Performing Team This role supports SMBC’s Global Markets technology organization, specifically within the Agency Development (AD) eFX business. The team operates at the intersection of trading, technology, and global market infrastructure, enabling seamless onboarding of liquidity providers and customers across regions. The environment is highly collaborative and international, with close coordination across Market Division stakeholders, IT teams, JRI in Tokyo/New York/London, and external vendors. The work is delivery-focused, fast-paced, and critical to ensuring stable, scalable, and compliant electronic FX trading operations across global markets. The role provides hands-on involvement with market connectivity, FIX/API integrations, and cross-regional coordination, while working in a hybrid model based in Jersey City, NJ. It’s well-suited for professionals who thrive in structured onboarding initiatives and global delivery environments. How You Will Make An Impact • Lead outcome-based onboarding of liquidity providers, including FIX/API connectivity setup, certification, and pricing stream validation, • Support market taker onboarding through structured milestones, technical testing, and go-live readiness, • Produce high-quality deliverables such as test plans, certification reports, onboarding packages, and workflow documentation, • Validate performance, latency, pricing behavior, and STP/trade-capture alignment prior to production release, • Act as a central point of coordination across global teams and vendors to ensure alignment on releases, schedules, and technical requirements, • 5–7 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst within financial services, • Hands-on experience supporting electronic trading platforms, preferably FX or other capital markets products, • Strong understanding of FIX protocol, APIs, and trading system connectivity, • Proven experience onboarding external counterparties such as liquidity providers or customers, • Ability to produce detailed technical and functional documentation for certifications and go-live readiness, • Strong stakeholder management skills across technology, business, and external vendors, • Fluency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written) required, • Comfortable working in a global, multi-time-zone delivery model
