Job Description Job Description: This position is for a locally owned growing electrical contractor providing commercial and multifamily electrical construction. We are looking for an experienced Field Superintendent who can lead people, organize work, solve problems, and keep multiple projects moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This is a field leadership position. The Superintendent will initially oversee electrical field operations for a multi-family apartment complex, working closely with the Project Management team, foremen, electricians, apprentices, general contractors, suppliers, and other trades. Position Summary: The Field Superintendent is responsible for the successful day-to-day execution of work in the field. The right person will be able to see the big picture while staying close enough to the work to identify problems before they impact schedule, labor, cost, or quality. This position will provide leadership across multiple projects, coordinate manpower and resources, support foremen, monitor productivity, and ensure work is installed correctly and completed on schedule. Key Responsibilities: Provide overall field leadership for assigned Electric projects. Oversee and support project foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and field crews. Coordinate manpower between projects based on schedule, priorities, and workload. Review drawings, specifications, approved submittals, RFIs, and project requirements before and during installation. Develop and manage short-term field plans and 2-3 week look-ahead schedules. Coordinate daily electrical activities with the General Contractor and other trades. Participate in superintendent, coordination, and project meetings as needed. Identify scheduling, constructability, material, manpower, or design issues early and communicate them to the Project Manager. Verify crews have the information, tools, equipment, and materials necessary to perform their work efficiently. Monitor field productivity and identify areas where labor hours or schedule are beginning to slip. Coordinate electrical rough-in, underground, service, distribution, gear, lighting, devices, trim, startup, testing, and closeout activities. Coordinate electrical work with fire alarm, communications, security, access control, and other low-voltage systems. Coordinate inspections and ensure work is ready before requesting inspection. Maintain high standards for workmanship and code compliance. Perform routine quality walks and correct issues before they become punch-list items. Support material planning, deliveries, staging, and inventory control. Help identify field changes and potential change-order work before additional work proceeds. Document field conditions when they affect scope, schedule, labor, or cost. Maintain clean, organized, professional work areas. Enforce and project safety requirements. Lead by example and build a field culture of accountability, quality, productivity, and teamwork. Mentor foremen and developing field leaders so responsibility can be effectively delegated. Drive projects through punch list, inspections, startup, turnover, and final completion. What This Role Owns The Field Superintendent owns the execution of the work in the field: Right people. Right place. Right materials. Right information. Right installation. Right time. The Project Manager manages the overall contract, financial, procurement, submittal, and customer-management functions. The Field Superintendent works closely with the PM but takes primary responsibility for making sure the field is organized and performing. Qualifications: 8+ years of electrical construction experience preferred. 3+ years in a Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent, or comparable field leadership role. Strong experience with multifamily, apartment, condominium, or commercial electrical construction preferred. Strong working knowledge of electrical drawings, specifications, NEC requirements, and construction sequencing. Ability to supervise multiple crews and projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to plan manpower and maintain construction schedules. Strong understanding of labor productivity and the impact field decisions have on project cost. Ability to communicate effectively with field employees, project managers, general contractors, inspectors, suppliers, and other trades. Comfortable using email, smartphones/tablets, drawings, Bluebeam, and construction-management software. Idaho Journeyman Electrician license strongly preferred. Valid driver's license required. \nCompany Description W3Global was established in 2006 in Fremont, CA with a vision: simplify the recruiting process and develop an industry-disrupting platform to connect candidates with clients.
