Position Summary The Field Sales Representative serves as the primary liaison between Metrolina Greenhouses and the customer store operators, ensuring effective communication of corporate direction, supporting sales growth, and strengthening relationships, from store associates to regional leadership. This hybrid role combines in-store support, merchandising, and merchant/buyer relations to drive sales and operational excellence. Job Function Store Operations Serve as the primary Metrolina Greenhouses contact for all store personnel within your territory. Clearly communicate corporate direction and sales strategies to operations teams at every level, from district leaders to store associates. Provide actionable sales data and guidance to help stores boost performance and profitability. Build strong, professional relationships with store teams and leadership, and lead kick-off meetings or coaching sessions to support the merchant vision Conduit of Information to Metrolina Greenhouses Deliver daily field insights on product quality, store challenges, and inventory needs to help Metrolina Greenhouses optimize replenishment, boost sales performance, and increase profitability. Job Description • Communication and Reporting, • Engage stores with updates on new programs and upcoming initiatives, keeping teams informed and motivated., • Build strong relationships through face-to-face meetings with key store personnel, fostering trust and collaboration., • Lead dynamic weekly conference calls to share insights, answer questions, and align goals, • Deliver a weekly newsletter packed with valuable information, tips, and highlights to stores, • Guide stores in executing merchandising strategies—optimizing product availability, layouts, signage, and inventory for maximum impact., • Be the go-to resource for stores, quickly addressing needs from event support and product requests to overstock solutions and more, • In Store Merchandising, • Deliver hands-on merchandising training to empower store teams and elevate product presentation, • On-demand merchandising support during peak seasons to maximize sales opportunities and ensure stores shine, • Event and Meeting Support, • Champion Metrolina Greenhouses at customer events, including Grand Openings, Special Store Events, and Pro Buys, creating memorable experiences and building lasting partnerships, • Actively participate in corporate meetings, weekly team calls, and the Annual Summer Meeting to stay aligned and share insights, • Take ownership of event and meeting logistics—gathering key information, crafting impactful presentations, organizing materials, and ensuring seamless preparation and setup for Kick Off Meetings., • Field Intelligence & Feedback, • Share timely, actionable field intelligence with the Account Manager to drive smart replenishment decisions., • Capture and send photos or detailed observations, serving as the eyes and ears for office teams, • Highlight and report both product quality successes and issues—whether from Metrolina or competitors—to ensure continuous improvement., • Flag and resolve tagging, UPC, retail, or ad confirmation issues to keep operations running smoothly., • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with two years’ relevant work experience., • Data integrity and analysis – ensuring data integrity by validating information before sharing, • Analyze and synthesize data from X3 order management system, BI, SEI, Power BI and Customer reports to create actionable reports and recommendations for the respective territories, • Proficient in Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and M3 In-Store APP., • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels, • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities, • Prior live-goods experience, • Lowe's Experience, • Employees must live in territory: Baltimore, MD or Northern VA preferred., • Employees in this position work primarily outdoors in store garden centers and will be required to travel between locations. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens., • The role has some administrative duties such as creating powerpoints, data analysis, and market feedback are required., • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50-75% of the time by their own means depending on the home location and supporting facilities. Heavier travel is during peak season with some overnight travel required.
