Job Description Job Title: Concrete Polisher Job Description This role focuses on performing professional concrete polishing and related concrete services, including core drilling, flat sawing, concrete removal, and surface preparation. You will work with a variety of tools and equipment to create high-quality, glossy concrete finishes and precise cuts that support construction and installation projects. Responsibilities • Perform core drilling into set concrete to create precise openings for pipes, conduit, and other utilities., • Polish concrete surfaces to achieve a smooth, glossy, and visually appealing finish., • Carry out concrete removal to prepare areas for the installation of pipes, conduit, or other structural elements., • Operate flat saws to cut concrete slabs and create accurate patterns, joints, and openings as required by project specifications., • Assist with concrete repair activities, including surface preparation, patching, and finishing., • Perform joint sealing work to protect concrete surfaces and extend their service life., • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, polishing, drilling, and removal tasks., • Operate and maneuver heavy equipment as needed to support concrete cutting, polishing, and removal operations., • Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on active construction sites and outdoor environments., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools, equipment, and materials., • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and project requirements., • 2+ years of experience in concrete work or a closely related construction trade preferred., • Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools in a construction or concrete environment., • Practical experience with concrete polishing and surface finishing., • Experience with sawing, core drilling, joint sealing, floor polishing, and concrete repair tasks., • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work for extended periods., • Familiarity with operating or working around heavy equipment on construction sites., • Strong awareness of jobsite safety practices and the ability to follow safety guidelines consistently., • Ability to work outdoors for long shifts in varying weather conditions., • Experience working specifically with concrete polishing equipment and techniques., • Experience in construction or concrete-focused projects, including rebar and structural work., • Comfort using a variety of hand tools and power tools for cutting, drilling, and finishing concrete., • Ability to read and follow basic instructions, layouts, or markings for cuts and drilling locations., • Willingness to work occasional night shifts based on project needs. Work Environment You work primarily outdoors from Monday through Friday, typically for 8–10 hour days, with the opportunity to earn up to approximately 15 hours of overtime per week depending on project demands. Some night shifts may be required to accommodate specific job schedules or site access. The work takes place on active construction sites and concrete work areas, where you regularly handle heavy materials, operate or work around heavy equipment, and use a variety of hand tools and power tools. The environment is physically demanding and fast-paced, requiring consistent attention to safety and proper use of protective gear appropriate for outdoor construction and concrete operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00/hr.
