Job DescriptionDescription: In the role of Home Care Caregiver, you will be responsible for supporting our aging residents by providing a safe, nurturing, stimulating environment to those requiring help with the activities of daily living at Academy Mapleton Hill (AMH). Benefits (Note: some benefits require full-time status) • Employee Health Insurance, • Dental and Vision Insurance, • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance, • Life Insurance, • Holiday Pay, • Paid Time Off, • 401(k) Matching, • Serves as a companion and an advocate to all residents, • Reviews and understands each resident's care plan, • Provides residents with both physical and emotional support, • Prepares and administers medications per policy, • Assists with the transfer and mobility of a resident, • Assists with all activities of daily living, including but not limited to, dressing, bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, assist residents to meals, grooming, and toileting, • Responds to all resident calls promptly, • Responds promptly to emergencies and provides first aid when needed, • Communicates effectively and/or documents a change in a resident's condition and/or edits daily progress notes as directed, • Informs supervisor of any resident changes of condition, increased care needs, or resident family concerns, • Supports the resident centered activity program, • Responds courteously to resident family member concerns and communicates with supervisor(s) promptly, • Understands and follows security and emergency procedures at all times, • Creates and maintains a safe workplace; reports unsafe areas or situations to the appropriate director or supervisor, • Displays honesty and integrity, • Participates in job-related training, • Attends scheduled meetings; be on time for all shifts and meetings, • Greets all residents, visitors, and co-workers in a friendly manner, • Protects residents’ rights, records, and privacy as required by federal, state, and local regulations, • Practices AMH’s Service Standards in all work situations, • Observant and caring, • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member, • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including patience and listening skills, • Able to think, act and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations, • Effective verbal and written communication, • Sense of humor and pleasant demeanor – ability to stay calm under pressure, • Ability to work flexible hours and occasional holidays, as required, • Empathy toward the elderly and to geriatric issues and challengesRequirements:
