American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Labor and Delivery, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 03/16/2026, • Duration: 16 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Mar 16, 2026, • Length: 16 weeks, • High-risk Labor & Delivery unit within a 317-bed acute care teaching hospital (Level 3 Trauma), • Patient ratio is 1:1, • Day/night rotation with 12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30 days, 19:00–7:30 nights), • Every other weekend required, • Floating required to postpartum as needed, • No on-call required, • Facility delivers approximately 200–300 births per month, • Charting system: Epic (Excellian) — experience required, • Procedures performed include cesarean births, postpartum tubal ligations (PPTL), D&C, cerclage placement and removal, and waterbirths, • Patient population includes high-risk antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruptio, preterm labor, multiple gestation, VBAC, and moreRequirements, • Active MN RN license required (pending license will be accepted), • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, • Required certifications: BLS and NRP, • Preferred certifications: AWHONN Intermediate and FHM, • Epic/Excellian EMR experience required, • Experience with high-risk obstetric patient populations required, • 1 supervisor reference required for consideration, • Fingerprinting required (Minnesota state requirement — LiveScan)Additional Information, • Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, fetal monitoring (internal and external), amnioinfusion, hemorrhage/shock management, neonatal resuscitation, and postpartum care, • Skills utilized include magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration, epidural anesthesia support, IV therapy, blood product administration, and use of EFM/IUPC, • Pre-start modules are required and must be completed before the first day of the assignment, • Candidates who have previously worked at this health system as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible, • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position, • RTO of no more than 5 days is preferred for this assignment, • Scrubs are provided by the unit, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
