Job Title - Technology Trainer Location - San Antonio, TX Duration - 5 Months Hybrid Role Position Summary The Temporary Technology Trainer will support the organization's ongoing digital transformation initiatives by delivering clear, practical, and engaging training for Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Copilot, and other business technologies as needed. The position will help employees transition from Cisco Webex to Microsoft Teams, build confidence using Copilot, and provide responsive ad hoc training when departments request support. This individual will train employees across the company, including administrative, operational, technical, and leadership audiences. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who can explain technology in plain language, adapt training to different skill levels, and create reusable materials that support long-term adoption. • Primary Focus - Webex-to-Teams transition, Microsoft Copilot launch, and ad hoc technology training, • Training Audience - Employees across all departments and varying technical skill levels, • Delivery Format - Instructor-led, virtual, hands-on, departmental, and one-on-one support as needed Key Responsibilities Microsoft Teams Transition Support • Deliver training to support the company-wide transition from Cisco Webex to Microsoft Teams., • Provide instruction on Teams meetings, chat, channels, file collaboration, calendar integration, and day-to-day communication best practices., • Support employees before, during, and after the transition to minimize disruption and increase adoption., • Create quick reference guides, FAQs, handouts, and other support materials for the Webex-to-Teams transition., • Assist departments with practical Teams use cases, including cross-department collaboration and meeting management. Microsoft Copilot Enablement • Deliver Copilot training sessions for employees with varying levels of experience and confidence using AI tools., • Teach practical prompting techniques, responsible use of AI, and validation of Copilot-generated responses., • Develop examples and use cases that connect Copilot to daily work functions, including writing, summarizing, meeting preparation, research, and productivity tasks., • Provide follow-up support, office hours, and refresher sessions to reinforce adoption., • Create Copilot job aids, prompt examples, and user-friendly training materials for internal reuse. Ad Hoc and Enterprise Technology Training • Respond to training requests from departments, teams, and managers as needs arise., • Provide group training, one-on-one coaching, and targeted workshops for business technologies used across the organization., • Develop and deliver training for enterprise software platforms and productivity tools, including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, Salesforce, and other business applications utilized by SAWS., • Support organization-wide mandatory training initiatives, including annual cybersecurity awareness training, state-required Artificial Intelligence (AI) training, data privacy training, and other compliance-related training programs as assigned., • Quickly learn new technology tools, software enhancements, system updates, or process changes and convert them into clear, effective training content and job aids., • Support new technology implementations, system rollouts, digital transformation initiatives, process changes, and employee enablement efforts across the organization., • Create and maintain training materials, user guides, quick-reference documents, videos, and other learning resources to support ongoing employee development., • Assist with technology onboarding, orientation, refresher training, and skills development programs for employees as needed., • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, surveys, and user engagement metrics, making recommendations for continuous improvement. Training Material Development and Reporting • Develop presentations, facilitator guides, participant handouts, quick reference guides, and short instructional resources., • Maintain and update training content as systems, features, or organizational practices change., • Collect participant feedback and identify opportunities to improve future training sessions., • Track training activity, attendance, common questions, and recommended follow-up needs., • Share observations on adoption barriers, recurring user challenges, and opportunities for additional training. Minimum Qualifications • Three or more years of experience delivering technology training to adult learners, or an equivalent combination of education and experience., • Experience facilitating instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on training sessions., • Ability to explain technical concepts in plain, user-friendly language., • Strong verbal communication, written communication, presentation, and customer service skills., • Experience developing training materials, presentations, job aids, or user documentation., • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt training based on audience needs. Preferred Qualifications • Experience training users on Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, or collaboration platforms., • Experience with Microsoft Copilot or other AI-enabled productivity tools., • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, or technology adoption methods., • Experience supporting change management, enterprise technology rollouts, or software adoption programs., • Experience delivering training in a large organization with diverse departments and skill levels., • Ability to create role-based examples and practical business scenarios for training. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, both in person and virtual., • Strong ability to build confidence with employees who may be hesitant or unfamiliar with new technology., • Ability to tailor training for technical and non-technical audiences., • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring and ad hoc requests., • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools., • Professional, patient, approachable, and service-oriented communication style.
