Job DescriptionJob Title: Cleanroom Production Associate Job Description This role involves working in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment to support the production of life-saving medical device components. You will follow detailed written work instructions and standard operating procedures, operate and support staple loader machines, perform light assembly and inspection work (including under a microscope), and use computer systems to track production activities. Team members rotate across multiple tasks on the production floor and receive cross-training to build a broad skill set and support stable, consistent work. Responsibilities • Follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to perform production tasks accurately and consistently., • Log in and out of jobs using bar code or QR code scanners and computer systems, ensuring accurate tracking of work performed., • Create and print labels through the company’s ERP or production systems as part of the manufacturing process., • Work in a cleanroom environment on staple loader machines, inserting staples into surgical stapling devices with a high level of precision., • Load, assemble, and mold components according to specifications, maintaining quality and consistency., • Perform light inspection of parts, including inspection under a microscope, to verify quality and identify defects., • Apply basic math skills to measure, count, or verify quantities and ensure correct documentation., • Rotate across various tasks on the production floor and participate in cross-training to support different operations as needed., • Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all cleanroom and facility rules, including restrictions on cosmetics, jewelry, and clothing., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety and cleanliness guidelines in both general production and cleanroom environments., • Communicate clearly and promptly with supervisors and staffing partners regarding attendance, schedule changes, and any issues impacting work., • Participate in training programs, including initial classroom training and ongoing on-the-job training in different roles and departments., • Meet performance metrics and quality standards, respond to feedback in real time, and work collaboratively to improve processes and outcomes., • Demonstrate reliability and consistency, especially during the first month of employment when training and skill development are critical.Essential Skills, • At least 1+ years of hands-on industrial experience in environments such as warehouse, manufacturing, landscaping, trade school, automotive, or similar industrial settings., • Ability to work from written work instructions and standard operating procedures with strong attention to detail., • Basic computer skills, including using bar code or QR code scanners, logging into jobs, navigating ERP or production systems, and creating and printing labels., • Comfort working in a cleanroom environment, including strict adherence to PPE requirements and cleanliness standards., • Experience using or willingness to learn to use microscopes for light inspection work., • Capability to perform basic math for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities., • Ability to operate or support basic production and machine operations safely and consistently., • Reliability and steady work history, demonstrating commitment and consistency in previous roles., • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate proactively about attendance and work-related issues., • Willingness to be cross-trained and perform multiple tasks across the production floor.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with CNC operations is a plus., • Experience with electric polishing is an advantage., • Previous cleanroom experience in medical device or similar industries is beneficial., • Comfort working under structured performance metrics and feedback systems., • Openness to rotating tasks and learning new roles within the facility., • Ability to work any of the offered shifts after completing initial first-shift orientation.Why Work Here? Work Environment The work takes place in a standard manufacturing facility that is clean, well lit, and climate controlled, providing a comfortable and stable environment throughout the year. Safety glasses and hearing protection are provided and required in designated areas, while steel-toe footwear and medical certifications are not required. A portion of the work occurs in a cleanroom, where team members wear smocks, hair nets, beard nets, and other standard cleanroom PPE; fuzzy clothing and water are not allowed in the cleanroom, and all PPE is supplied by the company. Cleanroom rules include no perfume, jewelry, cosmetics, acrylic nails, or fake eyelashes to maintain strict cleanliness standards. The general dress code requires closed-toe shoes, no shorts or tank tops, and jeans worn at the waist with no rips. All new hires complete a first-shift orientation for the first two days, with a preference to train on first shift before moving to other shifts as needed. Regular schedules run Monday through Friday with three primary shifts: 1st shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and 3rd shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Employees receive two 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch, with access to an on-site cafeteria and designated smoking areas. Parking is available in an open lot behind the building, with clear guidelines to avoid visitor and reserved spaces. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Britain, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
