CURiO Brands is home to Capri Blue and the cult favorite fragrance Volcano; Thymes, with the iconic fragrance, Frasier Fir, and Otherland, which is a founder-established affordable luxury candle brand. CURiO products are purveyed through major retailers, independent specialty stores, internationally, as well as Amazon and their own brands' websites. CURiO has an employee base of 150+ and operates from two locations, their corporate headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota and an innovation hub located in Starkville, Mississippi. POSITION SUMMARYThe Chief of Staff will serve as a key partner to the CEO, helping to prioritize the CEO’s time, strengthen team cohesion, and drive strategic initiatives across the organization. This role ensures the CEO can stay focused on high-impact activities and priorities, while maintaining consistent follow-up and accountability across teams. Working closely with the leadership team, the Chief of Staff will anticipate needs, manage workflows, and step in as a proxy when appropriate. Additionally, the Chief of Staff will foster a collaborative environment, aligning efforts to improve role clarity, decision-making (RAPID), and overall execution. This individual will be both a strategist and a doer—translating big-picture goals into practical steps, strengthening day-to-day operations, and building trust across teams to accelerate results. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Chief of Staff’s responsibilities will encompass three primary areas:Ensure CEO’s highest and best use of time • Prioritize and create space for the CEO to focus on strategic initiatives such as, M&A considerations, licensing opportunities, board engagement, and external partnerships., • Anticipate CEO needs and proactively prepare solutions, briefings, and materials for meetings and strategic discussions., • Attend meetings and events on behalf of the CEO, ensuring prompt follow-up and that all action items are tracked and completed., • Plan and manage operational and strategic meetings, ensuring the right participants are involved and that follow-up is clear and consistent., • Act as a trusted advisor and culture champion, providing honest feedback and insight on organizational dynamics., • Provide limited administrative support as needed, such as scheduling key meetings, but not recurring calendar or inbox management. Enhance cohesion and information flow, • Introduce structures, processes, and communication channels to strengthen collaboration, information sharing, and role clarity., • Implement and teach the RAPID decision-making framework across functions to reinforce ownership, accountability, and speed in decision-making., • Foster a collaborative, connected leadership team that’s aligned on goals and working toward shared priorities., • Clarify and amplify the CEO’s messaging, serving as a bridge between the CEO, and Leadership Team to ensure open, two-way communication., • Stay attuned to organizational dynamics, surfacing challenges early and helping to build understanding and buy-in for change when needed., • Introduce structures, processes, and communication channels to strengthen collaboration, information sharing, and role clarity., • Implement and teach the RAPID decision-making framework across functions to reinforce ownership, accountability, and speed in decision-making., • Foster a collaborative, connected leadership team that’s aligned on goals and working toward shared priorities., • Clarify and amplify the CEO’s messaging, serving as a bridge between the CEO, and Leadership Team to ensure open, two-way communication., • Stay attuned to organizational dynamics, surfacing challenges early and helping to build understanding and buy-in for change when needed., • Translate the CEO’c vision into actionable initiatives, manage projects to completion, and secure stakeholder alignment without requiring direct CEO involvement., • Drive consistent follow-through on initiatives, ensuring accountability and progress toward key objectives., • Help the team work smarter by improving coordination, simplifying processes, and removing roadblocks., • Conduct research on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging best practices to inform strategic decision-making. KEY QUALIFICATIONS, • 10–12 years of professional experience, including executive partnership, organizational effectiveness, and high-level project management., • Proven experience as a Chief of Staff or similar role, with demonstrated success in driving organizational effectiveness and decision-making., • Strong understanding and experience applying the RAPID decision-making framework., • Skilled at aligning executive priorities with organizational needs to ensure focus on what matters most., • High emotional intelligence, approachable, humble, courageous, transparent, and high energy; able to influence and build trust across diverse stakeholders., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience leveraging data to inform decisions., • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate and implement change, resolve conflicts, and build alignment., • Strategic thinker who’s hands-on in improving systems, processes, and collaboration., • Comfortable operating in a high-paced, entrepreneurial environment and adept at balancing both strategic and operational work.
