Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologist to join our team in Des Moines. This physician will perform a wide range of interventional procedures using advanced imaging techniques and innovative interventional strategies to treat a variety of urology-specific medical conditions, while collaborating closely with urologists and multidisciplinary providers to deliver high-quality, minimally invasive care. Key Responsibilities • Perform interventional procedures including artery embolization of the prostate, hemorrhoid, kidney, and varicocele, as well as peripheral angiography and related interventions, with a focus on procedural efficacy, safety, and the highest standards of patient care., • Conduct the occasional renal biopsy and nephrostomy tube placement/exchange if needed., • Lead development of an outpatient interventional radiology practice that treats a variety of urologic and non-urologic conditions., • Use advanced imaging modalities (fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI) to guide procedures., • Provide patient consultations, ensuring clear communication of procedures, risks, and outcomes to ensure informed consent., • Collaborate with physicians and care teams to create comprehensive, individualized treatment plans., • Continue medical education and track developments in interventional radiology to aid in the development of new or improved protocols/best practices., • Contribute to departmental case discussions, protocol development, and education initiatives., • Mentor and supervise junior radiologists and medical staff., • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school., • Completion of an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology., • Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology., • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Medicine., • Board certification in Radiology and eligibility for board certification in Interventional Radiology., • Understanding of advanced interventional techniques, tools, imaging modalities/software., • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and radiology information systems (RIS)., • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make quick, informed decisions during complications., • Board certification in Radiology with a subspecialty in Interventional Radiology., • 5 years of clinical experience in interventional radiology performing the procedures expected of this position., • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced interventional techniques, tools, imaging modalities/software., • Experience in a leadership role within a hospital, clinic, or catheterization lab. Our highly Competitive Compensation Structure includes a Pathway to $1,000,000 + Annual Income. • Annual Base Salary Range: $600,000, • Performance-based quarterly bonus: Available upon start, • 2-year track to partnership: Experienced physicians may be eligible to fast track, • On-Call Requirement: None, • Annual Vacation Time: 6 Weeks + Holidays, 5 days CME with $2,500 allowance annually, • 401k: Employer match up to 4% on IRS limit, • Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Coverage This position is based in Des Moines, IA. About the Fellowship This ELPC-Hubbell Environmental Law Initiative is a one-year, full-time position with the potential for a further year’s extension. This fellowship is in conjunction with the University of Iowa Hubbell Environmental Law Fellowship. This fellowship is exclusively available to recent law school graduates of the University of Iowa, including judicial clerks, or early-career attorneys who are committed to advancing environmental protection, climate action, and equitable solutions to pressing environmental challenges. The position will be based at our office in Des Moines, with a hybrid work environment. The Fellow will work as a fully integrated member of ELPC’s legal and policy team, gaining hands-on experience in environmental litigation, regulatory advocacy, and strategic policy initiatives.
