Paralegal — Corporate Legal \n In-house · Full-time · North Charleston, SC · v2 DRAFT September 2026 \n Compensation: $61,000 – $78,000 per year, based on experience \n Job Type: Full-time \n Location: Based in our North Charleston office, with flexibility to work remotely when the work allows \n Reports to: Corporate Counsel \n \n ABOUT CNT \n CNT Foundations and CNT Geotechnical are fast-growing specialty contractors serving residential and commercial respectively. Headquartered in Charleston, SC we’ve built a 15+ year reputation delivering excellence backed by a lifetime warranty. Our motto is “Fix it once, fix it forever”. \n THE SEAT \n CNT Foundations is hiring an in-house paralegal to work directly with our Corporate Counsel. This is not a law firm position. CNT is the only client, and every matter you work on is our own. \n The work is weighted toward active litigation — discovery, deadlines, drafting, and preparation for depositions, hearings, and mediations. Alongside it runs the steady legal work of a growing contractor: liens, collections, and the contracts we sign with homeowners, builders, and suppliers. \n You will see the whole picture. Not just a file, but the contract signed, the job built, the dispute that arose, and how it resolves. \n WHAT YOU WILL OWN \n • No missed deadlines — court filings, discovery responses, and lien filing windows, every one calendared and met. \n • Discovery delivered ahead of the due date — complete, organized, and in Corporate Counsel’s hands with time to review. \n • Lien and collection matters — tracked, current, and reported on a set schedule. \n • Matter files complete and current — so Corporate Counsel can walk into any hearing or call without asking where something is. \n \n ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES \n Litigation and Discovery \n • Draft and format pleadings, motions, subpoenas, written discovery, and correspondence for attorney review and signature. \n • Run discovery — collect and organize documents, Bates-label productions, and maintain production and privilege logs. \n • Prepare deposition notebooks, witness files, hearing binders, trial exhibits, and demonstrative materials. \n • Coordinate filing, service, hearing logistics, transcript orders, and communication with courts, opposing counsel, and vendors. \n • Maintain the calendar for court dates, response deadlines, and discovery obligations. \n Liens, Collections, and Contracts \n • Prepare and track liens and collection matters for attorney review, within required filing windows. \n • Track contractual notice requirements, payment issues, and warranty periods across active projects. \n • Organize and maintain CNT’s executed contracts and related project records. \n Matter and Project Support \n • Review, index, and summarize project documents — contracts, change orders, payment applications, invoices, schedules, correspondence, photographs, plans, inspection materials, and warranties. \n • Prepare chronologies, document logs, issue lists, and case-status summaries for Corporate Counsel. \n • Gather documents and information from CNT’s own teams, and from subcontractors, suppliers, insurers, and experts. \n • Schedule depositions, inspections, mediations, and other matter-related events. \n • Handle confidential information with discretion. \n \n QUALIFICATIONS \n • Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and legal experience. \n • Paralegal experience, with construction law, commercial litigation, real estate, insurance, or lien work strongly preferred. \n • Working knowledge of civil litigation procedure, discovery practice, legal document formatting, and electronic filing. \n • Able to read and organize construction records — contracts, change orders, schedules, plans, and payment records. \n • Excellent writing and proofreading, and close attention to detail. \n • Strong at managing competing deadlines without dropping any of them. \n • Proficient with Microsoft Office, PDF editing, document management, and e-discovery or litigation-support platforms. \n • Able to work independently and use sound judgment within the responsibilities assigned. \n PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS \n • Experience supporting construction defect, payment, delay, contract, lien, bond, or insurance disputes. \n • Experience preparing materials for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, or trial. \n • Prior in-house experience. \n \n ROLE CAPABILITIES \n The ten capabilities this seat is built on, in order of importance.
