Job Description Job Title: House Manager & Family Assistant (with Meal Prep Support) Location: Summit, NJ 07901 Employment Type: Part-time (20-25 hours/week) Schedule: MondayThursday, 11:00 AM 6:00 PM (flexible start time) Compensation: $3035/hour Start Date: ASAP Requirements: • Maintain a smoke-free environment, • Up-to-date vaccinations, • Must be comfortable with dogs Our household is built on clear communication, flexibility, and a shared sense of responsibility. Our children are involved in various extracurricular activities that require occasional local drop-offs and pick-ups. We have a beloved 25-lb Goldendoodle who enjoys regular walks and time spent at home with the family. As a pet-friendly household, we value the companionship pets provide, but we also need someone who can ensure our dog's care, including regular walks and basic pet care. We are looking for a positive, upbeat individual who is not just a caregiver but a true partner who will integrate into our family's rhythm and become an important part of our day-to-day lives. You will be responsible for shopping for groceries and making meals based on the family's preferences, ensuring the kitchen stays organized and meals are ready for the family to enjoy together. You are someone who works independently with initiative and a can-do attitude, always ready to lend a hand where needed and approach tasks with care and attention. We value clear and thoughtful communication, and you'll be comfortable coordinating a variety of household tasks, from child-related duties to pet care, all while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude. Key Responsibilities:Household Management & Organization • Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys), • Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for cleaning services, • Oversee household schedules and calendars, • Conduct seasonal swaps (holiday dcor), • Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays on occasion, • Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups, • Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions, • Supervise or coordinate with service providers/vendors (e.g., weekly cleaning service, handymen, dry cleaners, landscapers), • Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areasMeal Planning & Preparation, • Cook dinner 3-4 nights a week based on provided family preferences, • Batch cook items for other meals/weekends, • Plan and prep healthy meals/snacks for after school, • Shop for groceries and meal-related items, • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidinessInventory Management & Errands, • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies, • Create and manage running household supply lists, • Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.), • Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, gift shoppingLaundry & Linen Care, • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., kids' clothing, bedding, towels), • Iron, steam, and prepare items as needed (e.g. sheets), • Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials, • Handle special care for delicates (hang dry as needed), • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with suppliesPet Care, • Take the dog for a 20-minute walk once a day., • Manage pet care appointments (vet, grooming) and keep pet supplies stockedVehicle Management, • Schedule and oversee maintenance, oil changes, and inspectionsVendor & Property Oversight, • Schedule and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers), • Oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance needs, • Oversee property-specific systems (e.g., HVAC, chimney maintenance, window cleaning), • Serve as primary contact for vendors or guestsFamily Support & Child Assistance, • Assist with school/activity pick-ups or drop-offs, • Help with child-related laundry or errands, • Support for extended family members as needed (e.g. running errands, deliveries, occasional rides to airport)Deep Cleaning & Special Projects, • Participate in occasional ad-hoc organizational tasks or other special projects as needed, • Clean humidifiers, washing machines, and air purifiers monthly, • Help with planning of special family events and holidays, • Place and confirm catering ordersAdministrative & Personal Assistant Support, • Help with travel planning, scheduling, and logistics, • Manage family calendars and reminders, • Handle basic budgeting or receipt tracking, • A brief introductory letter explaining why you'd be a great fit for this position., • Your updated resume.
