Job DescriptionJob Title: General Production Worker Job Description This role supports daily operations in a metal roofing and siding production facility by operating machinery, handling materials, and assisting with packaging and shipping. You will help run equipment such as shears, press brakes, and roll forming machines while using a variety of hand and power tools to meet production goals safely and efficiently. The position requires consistent physical activity, attention to detail when measuring and staging materials, and the flexibility to work across multiple departments as production needs change. Responsibilities • Operate the shear, press brake, and roll forming machines in a safe and efficient manner., • Use tape measures, micron meters, and protractors to take accurate measurements and verify material specifications., • Regularly use hand and power tools, including skill saws and nail guns, to cut, assemble, or prepare materials for production., • Work on the production line assisting with banding, wrapping, and packaging metal roofing and siding products., • Operate a forklift to load and unload materials into trucks, conveyors, racks, and pallets, following proper material handling procedures., • Support shipping and material handling activities, including staging orders and preparing loads for transport., • Scan, verify, and accurately interpret documents used to stage orders or load trucks, ensuring correct items and quantities., • Perform basic data entry to fill orders, create labels, and update production or shipping records., • Meet production and manufacturing deadlines by working at a consistent, fast pace while maintaining quality and safety standards., • Rotate through different areas of the shop as needed, learning and supporting various departments and machines., • Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of required personal protective equipment such as ear plugs., • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, take direction, and contribute to a collaborative work environment., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the production floor, yard, and equipment., • Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks.Essential Skills, • Forklift experience is required, including safely loading and unloading materials onto trucks, conveyors, racks, and pallets., • 2+ years of experience in a high-volume production or manufacturing environment is required., • Hands-on physical labor experience in roles that involve consistent, strenuous activity., • Experience meeting production or manufacturing deadlines and working in environments that require maintaining quotas and a fast pace., • Construction experience using power tools, including skill saws, and the ability to read and interpret tape measurements., • Machine operating experience with equipment such as presses, shears, and roll forming machines., • Ability to read measurements accurately using tape measures, micron meters, and protractors., • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift., • Ability to scan, verify, and accurately interpret documents used for staging orders and loading trucks., • Basic data entry skills to assist with filling orders and creating labels., • Willingness to learn all areas of the shop and work wherever needed, including machine operation, construction-related tasks, press brake, shear, production, and roll forming., • Strong reliability, self-drive, and initiative to stay productive with minimal supervision., • Teamwork and communication skills, including the ability to take direction and work effectively with others.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with shipping and material handling duties is preferred., • Prior experience in a metal fabrication, roofing, or similar industrial environment is beneficial., • Comfort working in loud environments where ear protection is required., • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and move between departments as production needs shift., • Comfort working in varying temperatures, including hot conditions in the summer and cold conditions in the winter., • Experience using nail guns and other construction-related tools is a plus.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a metal roofing machine shop with approximately 15–20 employees, creating a close-knit, team-oriented environment. The facility can be loud due to machinery, and ear plugs are required; raised voices are common to communicate over the noise, so you should feel comfortable in a high-noise setting. The shop door remains open, which means the temperature reflects the seasons and can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. You will regularly work with industrial equipment such as shears, press brakes, roll forming machines, forklifts, and various hand and power tools, following all safety procedures and using appropriate protective gear. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SPOKANE, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
