Job DescriptionJob Title: Test Technician Job Description The Test Technician assembles and tests products using hand tools and specialized equipment while following detailed work instructions. This role ensures that each product meets performance and quality standards by performing functional tests, documenting results, and supporting continuous improvement in assembly and testing processes. The Test Technician works closely with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve issues and maintains a strong focus on safety and quality in all activities. Responsibilities • Assemble products using hand tools and machinery in accordance with detailed work instructions and technical documentation., • Perform functional tests on assembled products to verify performance, reliability, and quality., • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues that arise during the assembly and testing process., • Document test results accurately and maintain clear, organized records of assembly and testing activities., • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve assembly and testing processes and support continuous improvement initiatives., • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards in the work area and follow established procedures and guidelines., • Maintain, calibrate, and verify the proper operation of test equipment as needed., • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide assembly and testing tasks., • Use basic computer systems to enter data, generate reports, and maintain documentation related to testing and assembly.Essential Skills, • Proven experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment., • Ability to assemble mechanical and electrical components using hand tools and machinery., • Hands-on experience with test equipment used for electronics or electrical products., • Troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving issues in electronic, electrical, mechanical, or mixed systems., • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and detailed work instructions., • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly, testing, and documentation., • Effective problem-solving skills to address issues that arise during assembly and testing., • Proficiency with hand tools and basic mechanical and electrical assembly techniques., • Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and use of testing or reporting software., • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with engineering and production teams.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • High school diploma or equivalent., • Technical certification or associate degree in electronics, electrical technology, mechanical technology, or a related field is a plus., • Experience working with electronics, electrical systems, or electromechanical assemblies., • Familiarity with reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints., • Experience documenting test results and maintaining accurate records., • Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical components in a production environment.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
