Job DescriptionJob Title: Soldering Technician Job Description The Soldering Technician performs precision hand soldering, rework, and assembly of electronic components and printed circuit boards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all assemblies meet defined quality standards by following detailed work instructions, drawings, and schematics while adhering to strict ESD and safety procedures. The technician collaborates closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to support on-time delivery and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities • Perform hand soldering and rework on electronic components and assemblies, including both through-hole and surface mount technology., • Assemble, solder, and inspect printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with work instructions, drawings, and specifications., • Read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, and detailed work instructions to complete assignments accurately., • Inspect solder joints using visual inspection and magnification tools to verify compliance with quality and workmanship standards., • Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials, defects, or workmanship issues to the appropriate personnel., • Perform rework, touch-up, and repair of solder defects as required to bring assemblies into compliance with specifications., • Use appropriate hand tools and equipment safely and correctly while following ESD control procedures at all times., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in accordance with workplace and safety guidelines., • Follow established quality procedures, safety policies, and manufacturing standards throughout all tasks., • Support continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives by providing feedback and participating in process enhancements., • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to meet production schedules and output targets., • Perform additional related duties as assigned to support production and operational needs.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in electronic assembly or soldering within a manufacturing environment., • Strong hand-soldering skills for both through-hole and surface mount (SMT) components., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and written work instructions., • Working knowledge of IPC standards, with IPC-A-610 experience preferred., • Familiarity with ESD procedures and proper electronic component handling requirements., • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to producing high-quality work., • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently., • Basic computer skills with the ability and willingness to learn ERP or production tracking systems., • Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with cross-functional teams., • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment., • Availability to work rotating shifts and periodic overtime as needed to support production demands., • High School Diploma or GED.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with soldering and electronic assembly in a high-mix or high-volume manufacturing setting., • Hands-on experience with SMT assembly and rework processes., • Comfort using a variety of hand tools and inspection equipment for PCB assembly and verification., • Familiarity with production documentation, defect reporting, and basic quality systems., • Willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities and adopt new processes or technologies.Why Work Here? The position requires working in a fast-paced, production-oriented setting with rotating shifts and periodic overtime to meet customer and schedule demands. Workstations are maintained to be clean, organized, and safe, with clear expectations around housekeeping, safety practices, and adherence to documented processes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tempe, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
