Job DescriptionDescription: The Oversight Coordinator is responsible for supporting the successful execution of electric utility construction projects by coordinating contractors, monitoring field progress, facilitating project changes, ensuring compliance with utility standards, and maintaining communication between internal teams, contractors, and project stakeholders. This role serves as a key liaison between field operations, project management, engineering, supply chain, and contractors to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company and client standards. Contractor Coordination & Field Oversight • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for contractors assigned to utility construction projects., • Coordinate and manage contractor activities to support project execution and compliance., • Monitor contractor progress, productivity, and overall performance throughout the life of the project., • Identify issues affecting project performance and take corrective action as needed., • Participate in pre-construction meetings, kickoff meetings, and daily tailboards., • Verify project site readiness prior to construction start., • Define site access points, laydown/storage areas, and site logistics requirements as needed., • Identify special construction equipment requirements at the start of the project., • Manage and document property damage claims and customer complaints when applicable., • Identify project-specific safety requirements, special hazards, and operational risks., • Promote safe work practices and ensure contractors are aligned with all applicable safety expectations., • Support and participate in field safety discussions, observations, and compliance efforts., • Ensure all required permits, including ROW and environmental permits, are secured prior to construction activities., • Conduct job site inspections to verify readiness, compliance, and construction quality., • Verify that completed work meets applicable construction standards, specifications, and client requirements., • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or utility-related certifications preferred., • Valid driver's license, • Minimum 10 years of experience in electric utility construction, line construction, contractor coordination, field oversight, or related operations., • Working knowledge of distribution and/or transmission construction practices., • Experience coordinating contractors, schedules, materials, and field operations., • Ability to read and interpret:, • Construction prints, • Utility standards, • Work orders, • Project scopes, • Engineering drawings/redlines, • Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices and hazard recognition., • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, project teams, engineering, and utility stakeholders., • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills., • Utility or contractor experience in distribution, transmission, substation, or storm restoration operations., • Experience working directly with utility clients and construction standards., • Knowledge of:, • Switching coordination, • Outage planning, • ROW requirements, • Environmental permitting, • Material handling/logistics, • Prior experience in a field leadership, coordinator, or oversight role., • Strong leadership presence in field and contractor-facing environments., • Ability to manage multiple projects, contractors, and priorities simultaneously., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to identify risks, escalate issues, and drive resolution., • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and follow-through., • Ability to work independently while coordinating across multiple departments., • Combination of field and office work., • Frequent travel to project sites, contractor locations, and utility service territories may be required., • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions., • Working hours will be five 10hr days (Subject to change). Work hours are dependent on project assignments and utility request. May require occasional after-hours, emergency response, storm support, or extended workdays depending on operational needs.
