Status: Full-Time/Exempt Reports to: Director of Development Hours: 40 Hours Per Week Job Location and Hours Our organization is located at 1200 Old Henderson Road, Columbus, OH 43220. Normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. After an initial 90 calendar day training period in the office, this position can be hybrid, with at least two days being in the office each week. Job Summary The Fundraising Events Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating all fundraising events to ensure they achieve financial goals and always keeping budgets and timelines under control. The Manager works closely with the Director of Development and other staff to produce high quality events that achieve income goals by developing actionable plans for fundraising and managing monthly cash flow. The Fundraising Events Manager upholds the organization’s mission and vision with every event. We’re looking for a highly skilled event Manager who can help make these gatherings consistently efficient, cost-effective, and memorable. The ideal candidate will be able to evaluate and negotiate with vendors and manage communications with attendees and volunteers. Above all, the event Manager must be comfortable in a leadership role that demands a creative, business-driven mindset and lasting relationships with vendors. Duties and Responsibilities • Develop a complete understanding of the requirements for every event., • Actively plan and execute three fundraising events: the Night of Chocolate gala (500 guests) Charity Golf Classic (225 guests), and In Good Spirits Event (100 guests)., • Assist in planning and executing other special events and programs, such as donor receptions and our Healthcare Symposiums., • Assist the Director in developing and managing event budgets, timelines, and communication plans., • Create sponsorship materials, contact prospects and prior year sponsors to generate support., • Manage event database to ensure that accurate records of sponsorships, event attendees, sales and payments, and auction packages are maintained, and event website is updated with details of each event., • Responsible for developing a pool of volunteers that can be tapped for the large fundraising events, including recruiting, training, and communicating regularly., • Manage all event logistics with venues and vendors., • Coordinate silent and online auctions for each event and provide oversight to the silent auction committee as well as manage all gift-in-kind documentation., • Coordinate communications with chocolatiers for Night of Chocolate, recruit new participants, finalize all details., • Lead post-event debrief meetings and recommend process improvements as needed., • Create and manage the posting of social media commitments tied to event sponsorship i.e. thank you posts across our social media platforms. Minimum Requirements: • One year of experience in managing large non-profit fundraising events required., • Proven track record of creative, successful events., • One year of experience using event and CRM software required., • Experience working with colleagues in graphic design, sales, marketing, and communications., • Excellent organizational, communication, negotiating, and multitasking skills., • Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a customer-service mindset., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required., • Strong project and time management skills required., • Must have a desire to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities and project deadlines requiring attention to detail., • Must be highly self-motivated and professional, and accustomed to working within budget requirements., • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
