Position Summary: The Children's Aid Society runs a 53-camp facility in Chappaqua, NY. Multiple program are run there: summer day camp, overnight respite program for developmentally delayed children, adventure day programming, special events, and weekend retreats through the academic year. Essential Duties: The Maintenance Worker is responsible to carry out maintenance and custodial tasks for the camp at the direction of the Facility Manager. Those task fall into four categories: Custodial, Mechanical/Maintenance, Grounds and Special Events: Custodial · Picking up litter and taking garbage and recycling to the dumpsters · Cleaning cabins, dining hall and bathrooms · Cleaning and maintaining indoor floor surfaces. · Keeping track of building supplies · Taking in and storing deliveries · Setting up the camp for programming and cleaning up after. · Moving furniture and equipment around the camp for programming and storage purposes.
