PICTURE YOURSELF… Watercrest Palm Beach Gardens is looking for a Assistant Concierge to be selected to join an exclusive team! As an high-end Assistant Concierge, you will be responsible for creating a warm, seamless, and personalized experience for residents living with dementia and their families in our our beautiful first class Concierge Memory Care Residence. This role combines service-focused hospitality with hands-on engagement, ensuring that each resident feels known, supported, and purposefully connected to daily life in the neighborhood. This position serves as the neighborhood’s central point of connection; supporting residents, families, and team members, while delivering individualized, meaningful engagement aligned with the memory care philosophy. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Resident Welcome & Daily Support • Provides warm, familiar greetings to residents and families., • Monitors resident needs, comfort, mood, and neighborhood flow., • Supports transitions between programs, meals, rest, and self-care., • Ensures residents have needed items (hydration, comfort, sensory supports)., • Offers calm guidance during confusion, anxiety, or distress. 2. Personalized Engagement & Program Delivery • Leads small-group and 1:1 engagement tailored to abilities, interests, and history., • Facilitates purposeful tasks (folding, sorting, gardening, arts, music, life skills)., • Provides sensory-based and Montessori-inspired activities., • Partners with the Wellness Nurse to support the daily rhythm and resident flow., • Assists the Concierge Director with creating and distributing the monthly programming calendar., • Plans and delivers activities seven days a week, including celebrations., • Coordinates and attends weekly community outings., • Gathers resident stories and preferences to inform engagement plans. 3. Family Engagement & Communication • Serves as a welcoming contact for visiting families., • Provides updates and reassurance with the Wellness team., • Facilitates meaningful visit experiences (photos, reminiscence, sensory tools). 4. Environment & Hospitality • Maintains a warm, home-like neighborhood environment., • Supports meal and hydration set-up and daily routines., • Promotes safety, comfort, and a calm emotional atmosphere. 5. Documentation & Collaboration • Documents engagement, preferences, mood, and participation., • Shares observations with the Concierge, and Care Team., • Identifies changing needs and new engagement opportunities., • Ensures budget compliance and policy adherence., • Performs additional duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES • Must pass skills review/ competency, • Strong communication with residents, families, team members, and partners., • Ability to make sound, independent decisions., • Warm, friendly, and compassionate communication style., • Passion for serving older adults. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • High School diploma or equivalent required., • Associate’s degree or equivalent training preferred. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • One (1) year of experience in senior living preferred., • Experience leading activities for individuals with Alzheimer’s or related dementia preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position: • Able to stand or walk 75% of the day., • Able to concentrate with frequent interruptions., • Able to work under stress and in emergency situations., • Able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping., • Able to talk and hear effectively to convey instructions and information to residents and team members., • Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds. OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE / PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT • Work in all areas of the community., • Subject to reactions from dust, disinfectants and cleaning chemicals and may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases and other conditions., • Use personal protective equipment and supplies when needed to prevent burns, falls, and infection., • Personal protective equipment includes infection control kit, rubber gloves and non-slip shoes., • Subject to infectious diseases, substances and odors., • Follow Safety Policy & Procedures.
