We are excited to expand our GCP team, you can work from our office in Nashville, Chicago, Atlanta, New Jersey, New York, Dallas, Houston, Santa Clara and San Francisco. • GCP and API are mandatory skill sets, • 3 day in office no remote only, • full time not contracting and no W2/C2C, • resume submitted to LinkedIn not emailed Job Summary We are seeking an experienced API & Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and API-driven data solutions on GCP. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with data engineering best practices, cloud-native services, and RESTful APIs, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to enable reliable, secure, and high-performance data platforms. Key Responsibilities Data Engineering & Cloud Development • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), • Implement batch and real-time data processing using services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and Cloud Storage, • Optimize data performance, cost, and scalability across cloud environments, • Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability through monitoring and validation frameworks API Design & Integration • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs for data ingestion, access, and integration, • Integrate APIs with cloud-based data platforms and downstream applications, • Handle API authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and security best practices, • Collaborate with consuming teams to define API contracts and documentation Architecture & DevOps • Contribute to cloud data architecture and solution design, • Build CI/CD pipelines for data and API deployments using tools such as Cloud Build, GitHub/GitLab CI, or Jenkins, • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Deployment Manager, • Follow DevOps and DataOps best practices Required Skills & Qualifications • 3 to 8 years of experience in data engineering or backend engineering roles., • Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)., • Proficiency in API development (REST, JSON, OAuth, OpenAPI/Swagger)., • Hands-on experience with BigQuery, SQL, and data modeling., • Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java., • Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow / Cloud Composer)., • Knowledge of streaming and messaging systems such as Pub/Sub or Kafka., • Experience with CI/CD, version control (Git), and automated deployments., • Understanding of cloud security, IAM, and data governance best practices. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications • Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools., • Exposure to microservices architecture., • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE)., • Knowledge of data warehousing and analytics use cases., • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies., • GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer) are a plus The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $76,200 to $187,740. Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
