TITLE: Grants Manager PERFORMANCE PROFILE SOURCE: Individual Contributor DEPARTMENT: Grants REPORTS TO: Vice President of Grants FLSA STATUS: Exempt WORKER CATEGORY: Full-Time EMPLOYMENT FUNCTION: Professional POSITION SUMMARY: The Grants Manager plays a critical role in advancing the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida by assisting in the management of the organization’s grants department projects and overall grant portfolio. This position is responsible for generating fundraising income from government agencies, foundations, corporations, civic groups, and local businesses within the community. Serving as the lead writer for government, foundation, and corporate grant requests, the Grants Manager oversees the tracking and reporting of all grant-related requirements. In partnership with the Vice President of Grants and the broader grants team, this role plays a key part in raising vital revenue through the renewal of existing funders while proactively pursuing new funding opportunities to expand organizational resources and impact for the children and teens we serve. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Planning & Grant Development • Contributes to the planning and implementation of the organizational strategic plan as it relates to donor solicitations and fundraising efforts., • Maintains a master calendar of grant opportunities to support proactive planning and timely submissions., • Researches and identifies new revenue sources utilizing grant databases and sector resources., • Collaborates with Operations and Finance leadership to develop programmatic strategies and measurable outcomes for integration into competitive grant proposals., • Works closely with the Vice President of Grants to align grant strategies with organizational priorities and ensure effective communication, planning, and execution., • Prospect for new foundation and government funding sources and lead feasibility discussions with the Grants team and Operations department leaders., • Leads the development and submission of grant proposals to secure support from government, foundation, and corporate funders., • Develops compelling narratives, budgets, and outcome frameworks in partnership with internal stakeholders., • Ensures that all proposals align with organizational mission, program design, and funding priorities., • Seeks feedback and approval from the Vice President of Grants, ensuring all proposals and submissions meet organizational standards and strategic direction., • Manages administrative and tracking systems to monitor grant income, proposal status, and reporting deliverables., • Maintains compliance with reporting requirements by working closely with Grant Compliance Manager., • Collaborates with Finance and Operations to create, monitor, and manage program budgets that meet funder expectations and internal standards., • Gather, coordinate, edit, create, and perform quality control of files that supplement proposal and reporting narratives (including budgets, in coordination with the finance department)., • Compiles interim and final grant reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with funder requirements., • Cultivates strong relationships with funders, donors, and stakeholders to support long-term strategic growth., • Works collaboratively across departments to align grant portfolios with overall fundraising strategies and program needs., • Provides guidance, training, and support to colleagues engaged in grant-related activities., • Ensures a productive and collaborative working environment that supports organizational effectiveness and impact. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Education, Experience & Skills) Education: • At least three years of experience effectively prospecting for grants, stewarding grant officer relationships, and writing and submitting grant proposals and reports., • Strong technical writing ability, with proven expertise in developing compelling, fundable proposals and detailed reports., • Project management skills, including the ability to marshal resources and information from diverse staff, departments, and county-based operations., • Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks and projects, and proactively move work forward with minimal supervision., • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines without sacrificing accuracy., • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through., • Comfortable interpreting charts, graphs, and budgets, and extrapolating relevant insights for grant proposals and reports., • Strong customer service orientation and ability to build collaborative partnerships with colleagues both in-person and virtually., • Sensitivity to youth development needs, especially those affecting vulnerable communities., • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail., • Excellent collaboration and coaching abilities., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and CRM databases., • Experience navigating organizational change with clarity and confidence., • Ability to make data-driven financial decisions aligned with organizational goals., • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and consistent access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage. ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS: • The position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments of an office or club setting, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions., • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals., • Required to operate a motor vehicle., • Work in environments frequented by children and families, requiring adherence to safety and conduct standards that ensure a child-friendly and family-oriented atmosphere., • This role will have a standard and predictable full-time work schedule. However, all exempt staff must be adaptable to a dynamic work schedule, including evenings to support club activities and events. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: • Physically capable of performing programming activities and club duties on-site, including lifting up to 30 pounds, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, bending, and reaching., • Operates a computer and other office productivity equipment such as a copy machine, phone, printer, and tablet frequently. Requires the ability to work on a computer for extended periods (8+ hours), including performing tasks that involve repetitive motion, visual focus, and fine motor skills, • Visual and auditory acuity to monitor the environment and ensure safety standards are maintained., • Mental resilience and the ability to stay focused and effective in a busy, sometimes noisy environment., • Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively., • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with children, family members, and other staff., • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (occasionally).
