Job Description The Hospital Partnership Liaison plays a critical role in enhancing the culture of donation by building and maintaining strong hospital relationships, improving clinical processes, and delivering effective education. As a subject matter expert and strategic partner, the Hospital Partnership Liaison supports assigned hospitals through collaboration, customer service, and onsite visibility. This position requires significant regional travel and schedule flexibility, including nights and weekends as needed. Work Location: This position will typically be primarily based onsite at UK Hospital in Lexington, KY. The work location is subject to change with advance notice based on organizational needs. This position requires occasional travel throughout our donation service area. Work Schedule: The typical schedule will be Monday – Friday, 4:00pm – 12:00am. There will be some on-call and weekend responsibilities based on activity and departmental needs. Key Responsibilities: Hospital Support & Relationship Building • Collaborate with hospital leadership to review donation objectives, develop and implement strategic initiatives, and integrate hospital priorities to align with a culture of donation., • Identify underperforming areas and initiate corrective actions., • Provide support services and assist in resolving issues for hospital partners, including occasional after hours and weekends as needed., • Anticipate and respond to hospital needs, including changes in clinical regulations, hospital policies, and staffing., • Ensure hospitals adhere to best practices and regulatory requirements., • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key hospital staff, including but not limited to physicians, nurses, chaplains, social workers, respiratory therapists, and administrators., • Conduct regular on-site visits and activities at assigned hospitals, including night shifts, to maintain visibility and support donation efforts., • Prepare and deliver comprehensive and inspirational education programs on donation processes and regulations., • Provide real-time education during active donation cases, ensuring staff are aware of their roles and the regulations governing family approaches., • Gather, analyze and report on hospital-specific donation metrics and outcomes., • Identify and communicate trends in referrals and donation outcomes., • Present hospital-specific metrics, process improvement efforts, audit results, and other relevant information to hospital leadership., • Participate in post-donor reviews to refine and improve donation strategies., • Recommend and implement improvements to department policies, processes, and procedures to enhance team effectiveness and reduce administrative burdens., • Share best practices between hospitals and organ procurement organizations (OPOs) to drive continuous improvement., • Conducts or assists with improvement projects and activities, including formal PDSAs, to achieve internal and external donation goals and metrics., • Participate in the onboarding and orientation of new team members, contributing to a culture of learning and excellence., • Ensure that hospital partners comply with all relevant regulations, including CMS indicators and hospital accreditation standards., • Work with hospital-based committees to set goals, address issues related to donation processes, and review donation activity. Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Healthcare, Communications, Social Work, or a related field required. Exceptional work experience may be substituted for education requirements. Experience: At least three years of experience in healthcare, marketing, communications, business development, or social work, with a preference for direct clinical experience.
