Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Job Description The Maintenance Mechanic supports a highly regulated production environment by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment. This role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including specialized pharmaceutical packaging machinery. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on technical skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, while accurately documenting maintenance activities and supporting continuous improvement. Responsibilities • Perform minor electrical tasks, including voltage checks, continuity checks, and replacement of broken electrical parts and components., • Disassemble, repair, and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment to restore proper operation., • Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery, with a focus on packaging and pharmaceutical equipment., • Perform and document preventive maintenance on all machinery and equipment in accordance with established schedules and procedures., • Troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble conveyor belts and related material-handling systems., • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace bearings, electrical motors, and related mechanical and electrical components., • Assemble machinery and equipment using hand tools and pneumatic power tools, ensuring proper alignment and safe operation., • Read and interpret mechanical diagrams, blueprints, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and identify issues., • Request necessary parts, tools, and electrical components for machinery repair and maintenance in a timely manner., • Apply electromechanical knowledge to diagnose issues with A/DC motors, PLC electronic systems, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other automated equipment., • Use lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and follow safety protocols while performing maintenance and repair work., • Operate a forklift as needed to move parts, equipment, and materials safely within the facility., • Collaborate with team members and other departments to minimize downtime and support production goals., • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward learning, professional growth, and adapting to changes in processes, equipment, and technology., • Work independently when required, taking ownership of assigned tasks and ensuring they are completed accurately and on time., • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation for all work performed on equipment., • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a packaging environment., • High school diploma or equivalent education., • Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages., • Strong electromechanical skills, including experience with A/DC motors, PLC electronic systems, and machinery installations., • Proven experience in industrial maintenance, including troubleshooting and repairing production and processing machinery., • Ability to read and interpret mechanical diagrams, blueprints, and schematic drawings., • Hands-on experience with pumps, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, welding, and electronic systems., • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, including bearings, motors, and conveyor systems., • Experience performing preventive maintenance and documenting maintenance activities., • Ability to safely perform minor electrical work, including voltage and continuity checks., • Experience working with industrial pharmaceutical equipment or similar regulated manufacturing equipment., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment., • Strong sense of responsibility, resourcefulness, and a diligent work ethic., • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft applications., • Experience with FETTE and BOSCH machines or similar compression and packaging equipment., • Experience in compression equipment and related electronic components., • Experience with automation systems and PLC troubleshooting., • Ability to interpret and work from electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints., • Knowledge of industrial electromechanics and maintenance best practices., • Experience operating a forklift in a production or warehouse environment., • Mechanical experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and replacing mechanical components. Work Environment The role is based in a climate-controlled cleanroom environment designed for pharmaceutical and packaging operations. The work is performed on first shift, Friday through Sunday, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., totaling 36 hours of on-site work with pay equivalent to a 40-hour workweek. The facility uses industrial production and processing machinery, including specialized pharmaceutical equipment and compression machines such as FETTE and BOSCH, along with conveyor systems, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and PLC-controlled automation. Team members use hand tools, pneumatic power tools, diagnostic electrical equipment for voltage and continuity checks, and computers with Microsoft applications for documentation. Proper cleanroom and safety attire, including adherence to lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures, is required to maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work setting.
