Job Description Job Summary The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, repairing, restoring, and installing structural woodwork and related materials as per drawings, sketches and verbal instructions. Key Job Responsibilities • Takes measurements and calculates the size and amount of material needed, • Operates stationary power tools, hand power tools and hand tools, • Layout, cut and assemble parts such as doors, paneling, boxes, rails and trim, • Performs joinery work on vessel to fabricate and fit bulkheads, ceilings, windshield, windows, furniture, cabinet, desks, trims, handrails, cap rails and any other marine related joinery work, • Install prefabricated and/or custom parts such as hatches, marine hardware, metal trim and other parts, • Applies knowledge of woodworking joints in the marine industry, • Builds scaffolding and other construction structures, • Able to read technical documents and drawings, • Fabricate templates, • Know how to work with acrylic materials Work Experience Years of relevant work experience required: minimum 3-5 years experience in the carpentry trade or industry Physical Demands and Work Environment • Requires bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting, • Requires the ability to use speech, vision and hearing, • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations, • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds, • Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity Bradford Marine participates in the E-Verify program in certain locations as required by law.
