JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of the Industrial Division, the Auction Services Specialist will work with buyers, sellers, and other parties involved in the auction and asset disposition process to ensure that all cataloging of inventory, transaction processing, and client service functions are carried out accurately and professionally. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: • Auction Client & Inventory Management (35%), • Assist with cataloging industrial equipment and machinery for auctions, both at the Richmond facility and at client sites across the region., • Photograph, document, and prepare detailed asset descriptions to support accurate and compelling auction listings., • Work directly with prospective and current clients on contract paperwork and inventory., • Upload asset videos and images to auction platforms, the company website, and other listing tools., • Assist with maintaining and updating website postings and online auction listings., • Auction Customer Service (65%), • Serve customers by providing prompt, accurate, and friendly service while processing all transactions in a professional manner., • Adhere to company policies and procedures while maintaining a high level of confidentiality with customer information., • Process payments and collect deposits from customers on the auction floor and behind the scenes., • Communicate with buyers, sellers, and other parties involved in the auction and disposition process as needed., • Prepare and maintain various reports detailing auction activity and transaction status., • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate closing of auction transactions., • Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner., • Assist in the training of new staff members as needed., • Maintain clean and organized work areas at the facility and in the field., • Perform other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE: • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Two years of related experience in customer service, sales, warehousing, logistics, equipment, or the auction industry preferred. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES: • Knowledge of industrial assets, equipment, and/or trucks, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – comfortable with customers on the phone, in person, and in writing., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; precision in cataloging and documentation is critical., • Proficient with technology, including auction management software, online listing tools, and standard office applications (email, spreadsheets, etc.); ability to pick up new software quickly is a real asset., • Familiarity with AI tools is a plus — Motleys actively integrates AI into cataloging and operational workflows., • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; some regional travel to client sites is required., • Self-starter who can work independently in the field and as part of a team at the facility. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Prolong periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer., • Able to work both in an office/facility setting and in the field at client sites., • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
