Job Description Job Summary: The Card Portfolio Specialist is responsible for the ongoing performance, optimization, and profitability of EdFed’s card portfolio. This role manages the card product lifecycle post-launch by monitoring portfolio performance, developing analytics-driven insights, and leading ongoing programs such as secured-to-unsecured graduation, balance transfer offers, and credit line management strategies. The Card Portfolio Specialist partners closely with Card Product leadership, Marketing, and Operations to enhance member experience while achieving portfolio growth and risk objectives. Portfolio Performance Management & Optimization • Own the ongoing performance and optimization of EdFed’s card portfolio across all consumer and small business card products., • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance metrics, including growth, activation, utilization, revolve rates, attrition, credit quality, and profitability., • Identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities through vintage, cohort, and segmentation analysis., • Develop actionable recommendations to improve portfolio outcomes while balancing growth, risk, and member experience. 2. Portfolio Programs & Lifecycle Management o Balance transfer offers and promotional campaigns o Credit line increase and decrease programs o Retention and engagement initiatives o Other growth and retention strategies • Oversee the full lifecycle of card products post-launch, ensuring continued competitiveness, compliance, and alignment with member needs., • Evaluate program performance and recommend adjustments to offer structures, eligibility criteria, and targeting strategies. 3. Analytics, Reporting & Insights • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), financial results, and portfolio health metrics to support strategic decision-making., • Produce regular and ad-hoc reporting, including executive-level summaries and in-depth analytical reviews., • Design and maintain dashboards and data visualizations that provide clear, actionable insights for leadership., • Translate complex datasets into concise narratives and recommendations for business stakeholders. 4. Strategy Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration • Support card product strategy by contributing analytical insights, business cases, and financial forecasts., • Partner with Card Product leadership to provide performance feedback that informs future product enhancements and new product design., • Collaborate with Retail, Marketing, Operations, and Risk to identify opportunities and develop targeted campaigns that drive portfolio growth and profitability., • Champion member feedback and behavioral insights to ensure product and program decisions reflect member needs. 5. Market & Competitive Intelligence • Monitor industry trends, regulatory considerations, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities, risks, and emerging best practices., • Research and recommend alternatives that more effectively meet business objectives or improve portfolio performance., • Assess the impact of market changes on existing card products and portfolio strategies. 6. Continuous Improvement & Process Enhancement • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance member experience, operational efficiency, and portfolio performance., • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, analytics, and portfolio management processes., • Support the refinement of data governance, reporting standards, and performance measurement frameworks. 7. Other Responsibilities • Perform other duties as assigned by management in support of Card Products and organizational objectives. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination, • 4-7 years of relevant experience in the financial industry with visible progression related to responsibilities., • Data knowledge combined with Critical Thinking to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. Skills: • Ability to think strategically, conceptually and analytically including strong trouble-shooting skills., • Strong ability to interpret complex datasets, • Strong attention to detail and solid interpersonal, written and verbal skills., • Understanding of product lifecycle, customer behavior, and market dynamics, • Ability to meets deadlines and manage changing priorities with limited direction., • Experience of acting in a consultancy capacity guiding team members to appropriate decisions., • Maintain the confidentiality of the Credit Union and member records at all times., • Advanced knowledge of the Credit Union products and services., • Intermediate level knowledge or higher of Microsoft software, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint BSA Statement: Every employee is required to comply with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) policies and procedures, and to attend required BSA-related training as assigned.
