Job Title: Test & Debug Technician (Day Shift) Location: Newark, CA Department: Manufacturing Engineering Reports to: Test Engineering Manager Job Overview: The Test & Debug Technician administers debugging, maintenance, and repair of assigned products, processes, testers, and equipment. Primary Job Responsibilities: Perform and document testing and debugging of assigned products/processes * Operates electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and conducts special tests as required * Debug, document, and report test-related fallouts * Debug, document, and report WIP (work-in-progress) related product/process * Identify and troubleshoot malfunctioning test equipment/tester * Perform system analysis, testing, and debugging to defect root cause * Ensure the WIPs are repaired and validated within the specific timeframe Conduct and document failure analysis • Perform, document, and report failure analysis on all test fallout, • Reports failure analysis results – suggest sources of failure, alternate diagnostic techniques, and/or problem fixes, • Utilized in-circuit test equipment for testing and debugging at the component level, • Utilized an X-ray machine for debugging at the component level, • Utilized the available instruments for testing and debugging at the component level, • Ensure the debug is accurate and escalate to the Engineer/Manager/Customer if exceeds the component change limit Repair and maintain instrument, equipment, and tester * Assist with the installation, debugging, and validation of test equipment; assist in the installation and maintenance of new or more complex test equipment * Validate and calibrate assigned equipment * Support preventative maintenance according to detailed specifications and schedules Provide support, assistance, and training across teams and functions related test and debug • Develop, update, and maintain the Debug Guide to troubleshoot PCBA and other assigned equipment., • Provide training and PCBA debugging guidance to other debug technicians, • Assist with monitoring the productivity of test equipment by tracking yields and equipment cycle rates Qualifications: Minimum Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years in SMT manufacturing, PCBA, and Assembly related field. Understand of all types of communication protocol like RS-232, RS-485, I2C, SPI, SMBUS, JTAG, SWD, and Boundary Scan Specialized in debugging circuit comprised of multiple arrays of BGA, FPGAs, and ASICs Good in reading the schematic and assembly drawing. Knowledge of SMT processes and IPC standard Knowledge of Flying Probe (Takaya) and Agilent 3070 ICT systems and testing Knowledge and ability to operate an X-ray machine Knowledge with basic debugging tool such as Multimeter, LCR meter, Oscilloscope You should be proficient in: • IPC-A-610, • PCB Assembly (Printed Circuit Board Assembly), • PCB Components (Printed Circuit Board Components), • Multimeter, • SMT Machine
