Job Description Summary of Position A Convention Services Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of group events, conferences, and conventions within Showboat. Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal departments to ensure seamless event execution and high customer satisfaction. Organizational Relationships Reports to: General Manager Supervises: Events Housemen, Bartenders Qualifications and Skills • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, • Excellent communication and client relationship skills, • Attention to detail, • Problem-solving and decision-making, • Time management and prioritization, • Customer service excellence, • Ability to perform under pressure, • Ability to multitask and prioritize and delegate daily workload, • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or related field(preferred), • 1-3+ years of experience in event management, convention services or hospitality operations, • Knowledge of event planning/hospitality principles and practices Event Planning & Client Management • Serve as the main point of contact for clients after the sales process through event completion, • Conduct pre-event meetings, site visits, and planning calls to understand client needs and expectations, • Develop detailed event orders (BEOs), timelines, and floor plans, • Manage event logistics including audiovisual, room setup, and special requests, • Collaborate with Sales to transition booked groups into execution phase, • Act as on-site manager during events to ensure smooth operations, • Conduct daily event reviews and adjustments as needed, • Troubleshoot issues quickly and professionally, • Work closely with internal teams to deliver high-quality service, • Provide guidance and direction to event staff Showboat Core Values Demonstrates Showboats core values in the performance of position responsibilities: 1.
