Job Description Warehouse Associate/Forklift Operator - Aurora, IL 12 HR ROTATING SHIFT - OVERNIGHTS 7PM - 7AM $19/hr NO COMPLIANCE/CAN START ASAP Job Description The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in supporting production and logistics by safely operating sit-down forklifts, transporting materials, staging raw goods for machine operators, and managing inventory through order picking, shipment verification, and use of warehouse systems. This position works a 12-hour rotating night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Operate sit-down forklifts to safely move oversized pallets and plastic lumber throughout the warehouse and production areas., • Transport raw materials to designated staging areas and ensure machine operators have the materials they need to keep production running without interruption., • Perform general labor and material handling tasks, including loading and unloading materials and products as required., • Pick orders accurately and prepare shipments according to established procedures and documentation requirements., • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading and other shipping documents to ensure accuracy., • Utilize warehouse inventory systems, computers, RF scanners, and UPS shipping tools to track, process, and document inventory and shipments., • Support shipping and receiving activities, including labeling, sorting, and organizing materials and finished goods., • Conduct cycle counts and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records., • Follow all safety guidelines when operating forklifts and handling materials, including lifting up to 50 lbs as needed., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, even in a dusty or dirty environment, and adhere to housekeeping standards., • Collaborate with team members and machine operators to support efficient production flow and on-time order fulfillment. Essential Skills • At least 2+ years of warehouse experience operating a sit-down forklift in a production or distribution environment., • Demonstrated ability to operate sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently when moving oversized pallets and heavy materials., • Ability to perform general labor and material handling tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis., • Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including loading, unloading, and preparing shipments., • Proficiency using computers for warehouse functions, including data entry and basic navigation of inventory or shipping systems., • Experience using UPS shipping tools for processing and tracking outbound shipments., • Ability to use RF scanners for order picking, inventory tracking, and cycle counting., • Familiarity with bills of lading and standard shipping documentation., • Knowledge of basic inventory practices, including order fulfillment, inventory tracking, and cycle counts., • Willingness and ability to work 12-hour rotating night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial warehouse environment., • Comfort working around large, heavy materials such as plastic lumber and oversized pallets., • Strong attention to detail when verifying shipments, completing documentation, and tracking inventory., • Ability to stay organized and maintain a clean work area in a busy, high-volume setting., • Reliability in attendance and performance, especially in an overtime-rich environment., • Adaptability to a hot and sometimes dirty environment while maintaining safety and productivity. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
