Job Description SUMMARY: The Plant Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for full-site performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this position leads all manufacturing and support functions within a fast-paced, precision manufacturing environment, including CNC machining, welding, and related operations. This role combines strategic plant leadership with hands-on operational execution. The Plant Manager is accountable for driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams, and executing continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, ERP/MRP, and Six Sigma methodologies. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, visible floor leadership, and the ability to translate strategy into disciplined daily execution. Plant & Business Leadership • Lead and execute site strategy to achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals for safety, quality, delivery, revenue, operating income, and growth., • Partner with executive leadership to establish plant priorities, policies, and resource plans aligned with company objectives., • Develop and manage plant budgets, forecasts, and capital investment (CAPEX) plans., • Maintain awareness of industry trends, customer requirements, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions. Operations Management • Direct plant operations including production, scheduling, logistics, inventory control, quality, maintenance, and facilities., • Lead daily CNC machining and manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality output., • Align production schedules, labor resources, and material flow to meet delivery and customer commitments., • Drive capacity planning, workforce planning, and layout/process optimization. Safety, Quality & Compliance • Champion a proactive, plant-wide safety culture; lead safety programs and ensure compliance with all company and regulatory requirements., • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 / AS9100 and applicable customer, quality, and regulatory standards., • Establish and sustain standardized work, visual management, and robust problem-solving disciplines. Continuous Improvement • Drive Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, productivity, cost, and reliability., • Lead cross-functional improvement efforts using data, KPIs, and root cause analysis., • Leverage ERP/MRP systems, analytics, and advanced Excel tools to monitor performance and drive fact-based decision-making. People Leadership • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team and workforce., • Provide coaching, mentoring, and development to promote accountability, engagement, and talent progression., • Oversee hiring, performance management, succession planning, and employee relations., • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and operational discipline. Customer Focus • Establish and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships., • Ensure responsiveness, quality, and delivery performance that supports premier customer service. QUALIFICATIONS: Required • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations management, business, or related field., • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in CNC machining or precision manufacturing environments., • Demonstrated success managing plant operations with accountability for safety, quality, delivery, and cost., • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence systems., • Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools., • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, lead change, and drive accountability at all levels., • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills. Preferred • Experience in ISO 9001 / AS9100 environments., • Experience leading capital projects and major process transformations. CFW Add’l Notes: • Headcount: 30 employees.
