Job Description NOW HIRING: ASSEMBLY RPEAIR TECHNICIAN Job Description The Repair Technician diagnoses, repairs, and tests returned electronic equipment to restore it to full working order and ensure it meets quality and industry standards. This role troubleshoots to the component level, performs rework and modifications, prepares repair estimates, and documents all findings and corrective actions in company systems while working under general supervision. Responsibilities • Troubleshoot and process equipment returned by customers for repair or exchange., • Use sound judgment while working under general supervision on routine tasks and following detailed instructions on new assignments., • Troubleshoot electronic equipment down to the component level to determine the cause of failure and compare findings with customer complaints., • Prepare repair estimates when needed and obtain customer approvals before proceeding with work., • Perform rework, modifications, updates, and realignments to return equipment to proper working order., • Carry out corrective actions and document all steps taken to restore returned equipment to operational condition., • Perform functional and performance testing to ensure equipment operates according to specifications., • Inspect finished products to verify conformance to industry, quality, and workmanship standards., • Document failure codes, repair details, and test results accurately in company systems such as AGILE and MES., • Identify problems with products and procedures and report them to the appropriate leadership., • Address service and reliability issues as they arise and support continuous improvement efforts., • Initiate Engineering Action Requests (EAR) to address recurring issues or needed design, schematic, or process changes., • Perform soldering on surface mount and other electronic components in accordance with quality standards., • Read and interpret schematics and manufacturing documentation to guide troubleshooting and repairs., • Proven ability to troubleshoot electronic equipment to the component level., • Strong soldering skills, including work on surface mount components., • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and manufacturing documentation., • Proficiency in using common hand tools required for electronic repair work., • Ability to operate required electronic test equipment for diagnostics and verification., • Computer literacy and comfort working with repair and testing programs., • Ability to use systems such as AGILE and MES or similar platforms for documentation and workflow., • Ability to exercise good judgment when diagnosing issues and determining corrective actions., • Experience performing testing and troubleshooting on electronic products., • Comfort working with repair documentation and entering detailed data into company systems., • Associates degree in Electronics Technology, technical school certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience with an understanding of basic electronics theory (preferred). Work Environment The work environment typically features a quiet to moderate noise level, with occasional exposure to loud noise. The role involves frequent contact with individuals outside the immediate department or company. At times, the position requires working near moving mechanical parts, at heights in precarious places, and in areas where fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions may be present. The technician is regularly exposed to a risk of electric shock and must follow safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment. The setting is a technical repair and testing environment using electronic test equipment, computer systems, and standard hand tools. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
