Role Snapshot • Title: Director of Advancement, • Location: Eastpointe / Detroit, MI (local Metro Detroit candidates strongly preferred), • Schedule: Full time, generally Monday to Friday, with some evenings and weekends for donor meetings and events; semi flexible work schedule, • Work Style: Primarily on site and in the community, with some flexibility as responsibilities allow, • Compensation: $72,000 to $91,000 base salary, commensurate with experience, • Bonus: 5 to 20 percent annual performance bonus based on year over year KPI goal attainment, • Benefits: Health insurance, retirement plan with employer match, 2 to 3 weeks PTO, standard paid holidays, • Travel: Minimal, primarily local donor and partner visits, • Reporting: Reports to the Executive Director; member of the senior leadership team If you are a mature follower of Jesus, energized by cultivating generous partners, and ready to help grow a local ministry’s impact, this role offers a meaningful next step. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership and Planning • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual and long term advancement plan that integrates major donors, churches, foundations, grants, events, and campaigns, • Serve as a member of the senior leadership team and contribute to overall organizational strategy and decision making, • Partner with the Executive Director and Board on advancement strategy, best practices, and donor engagement opportunities, • Monitor fundraising metrics and KPIs, evaluate what is working, and adjust strategies to meet and exceed ministry goalsDonor Engagement and Fundraising, • Build and manage a portfolio of major donors, with a strong emphasis on cultivating and stewarding high capacity individual partners, who are currently the largest source of support, • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with churches, foundations, and corporate partners, • Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns that connect people to the mission, • Oversee or support the grants pipeline, including identifying opportunities, supporting proposal development, and ensuring reporting is completed accurately and on time, • Ensure donor interactions and gifts are recorded accurately in the donor CRM and that donors receive timely acknowledgments and updatesCommunications, Brand, and Storytelling, • Oversee advancement related communications and marketing in partnership with staff and vendors, including appeals, impact updates, newsletters, and digital content, • Strengthen digital presence and storytelling that shares the impact of LifeBUILDERS work with children, youth, families, and the wider community, • Serve as a visible ambassador for LifeBUILDERS with donors, churches, volunteers, and community partners, • Guard and advance brand awareness and messaging so that it remains consistent, Christ centered, and compellingStewardship and Systems, • Champion a culture of gratitude and stewardship for all donors, from first time givers to long term major partners, • Oversee basic donor database practices and simple processes that support accurate reporting, segmentation, and follow up, • Partner with finance and operations on revenue forecasting and reconciliation related to gifts and grants, • Deep, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with LifeBUILDERS statement of faith, • Active and faithful involvement in a local Christian church or ministry community, • Clear sense of calling to full time ministry work, especially in an urban context, • Desire and ability to integrate biblical principles and prayer into development strategy, donor interactions, and daily work, • Heart for investing in children, youth, families, and neighbors who are facing systemic and generational challengesProfessional Experience, • Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree or CFRE credential is a plus, • At least 7 years of demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising or ministry leadership with significant responsibility for revenue generation, • Track record of cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts, including five figure and ideally six figure commitments, • Experience working with or alongside churches, foundations, and community partners, • At least 3 years of direct experience or a strong understanding of urban ministry settings and the dynamics of under resourced neighborhoodsSkills and Strengths, • Exceptional relationship builder who is comfortable engaging donors, pastors, business leaders, volunteers, and community members, • Strategic thinker who can design and execute advancement plans and translate vision into clear goals and activities, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling, presentations, and donor facing communication, • Comfortable with donor CRM systems and basic fundraising technology, • Enjoy both being out with people and working behind the scenes on strategy and systems, • Are energized by aligning vision, message, and resources for a ministry that is deeply rooted in place, • Can balance faith filled dependence on God with disciplined, proactive advancement work Please submit your resume and a brief note sharing why you sense a call to serve with LifeBUILDERS Detroit in this Director of Advancement role, using the application channel provided by Bronwick for this position.
