Learn more at: Position Overview: The Assistant Director of Psychosocial Rehabilitation is a clinical leadership role within Mental Health Services. This position provides oversight of a group-therapy–driven psychosocial rehabilitation program serving adults with serious mental illness. The Assistant Director is responsible for clinical quality, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and program performance, ensuring services are evidence-based, recovery-oriented, and aligned with person-centered treatment planning. This role includes direct clinical oversight, completion and sign-off of assessments, and supervision of master’s-level clinicians and interns. Core Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Oversight • Provide clinical oversight of a group-based psychosocial rehabilitation program grounded in recovery-oriented and evidence-based practices., • Complete, review, and sign off on clinical assessments, including IM+CANS, LOCUS, risk assessments, and treatment plans., • Ensure clinical services align with individualized treatment goals and medical necessity requirements., • Provide crisis intervention support and ensure timely completion of incident reports when required., • Maintain compliance with licensing, accreditation, and funding source requirements., • Supervise and support master’s-level clinicians, support staff, and interns, including performance management and clinical skill development., • Provide individual and group supervision, including supervision toward licensure when applicable., • Support onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development of clinical staff., • Lead clinically driven referral development efforts to support appropriate program census and access to services., • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., outpatient providers, hospitals, care coordinators, and community partners) to educate referral sources on clinical criteria, service scope, and treatment outcomes., • Ensure referral and intake processes support medical necessity, appropriate level of care, and continuity of treatment., • Monitor referral trends and utilization data to identify gaps, barriers to access, and opportunities for service alignment., • Partner with leadership to support program growth through ethical, needs-based clinical marketing aligned with organizational mission and regulatory requirements., • Represent the program in clinical case consultations, interdisciplinary meetings, and community-based provider forums as needed. Requirements: Required Qualifications • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field, • Active Illinois licensure: LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT, • Minimum 2 years of experience in adult mental health or community-based behavioral health services, • At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience, • IM+CANS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire), • Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and understanding of recovery-oriented care, • Schedule: Business Hours 9am-5pm The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
