About The Role: As Urban Sky rapidly scales, our information technology systems are becoming more critical than ever to the success of our missions. We're looking for an ambitious, hands-on IT Technician to help build and support the foundation of a modern, secure, and reliable IT environment—one that enables our teams to operate quickly, safely, and effectively as we launch stratospheric flight vehicles on a weekly basis. This role is in a growing IT function and makes a meaningful impact across the company. You'll work across Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, core IT administration, and the daily operation of systems that directly support engineering, operations, and mission execution. From employee endpoints to enterprise tools to secure network access, your work will help ensure that Urban Sky stays connected, productive, and mission-ready. Urban Sky supports customers and use cases that demand high trust and strong security. As part of this team, you'll help maintain the discipline and technical rigor required for high-security and compliance-driven environments, including government standards such as CMMC 2.0 and NIST 800-171, while operating at the pace of an aerospace startup. Day One Responsibilities: From your first day, you will focus on being a reliable, responsive point of contact for employee IT needs and helping keep day-to-day systems running smoothly. • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support for employees, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues, • Support Windows and macOS workstations (Linux familiarity helpful but not required on day one), • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including device setup, account provisioning, and access removal, • Manage and support users in Microsoft 365 (email, accounts, permissions, collaboration tools), • Help track, issue, and maintain IT assets (laptops, peripherals, shared equipment), • Troubleshoot common networking and access issues and escalate appropriately when needed, • Document procedures, fixes, and known issues to help build a scalable IT knowledge base As you ramp up and gain familiarity with Urban Sky's infrastructure, you will gradually take on broader technical and security responsibilities, with mentorship and guidance from the IT Director. • Take increasing ownership of IT administration tasks, including user lifecycle management, device configuration, and access controls, • Assist with maintaining on-site networks, servers, and shared compute resources, • Support secure authentication, identity management, and endpoint security initiatives, • Help implement and maintain security controls and documentation aligned with standards such as CMMC 2.0, • Participate in compliance-driven IT processes, audits, and continuous improvement efforts, • Contribute to improving IT reliability, documentation quality, and support workflows, • Support office technology systems such as conference rooms and building security systems Qualifications: • Certificate, degree (such as CS) or equivalent work experience, • Technical expertise in IT infrastructure, networking, security, and cloud-based applications (Office365, AWS, Slack, VPNs), • Positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to take on projects that would typically be done by larger teams, • Experience developing IT infrastructure for the US Government, • Certifications related to cybersecurity and risk management, • Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident, • Must be located near Denver, CO or willing to relocate to Denver, CO, • Salary $65,000 - $90,000 per year, • Stock Options, • Medical, Vision and Dental, • Unlimited Vacation Days, • Cell Phone Bill Stipend Urban Sky is required to post this salary range per Colorado law. Your salary will be determined based on your abilities and experience.
