Position Overview We are seeking a high-ownership, hands-on HR Manager to stabilize and strengthen HR operations, beginning with Koa Maintenance & Cleaning and expanding across the platform over time. The ideal candidate exercises sound judgment, works collaboratively across teams, and drives matters to resolution with clarity and professionalism. You must be comfortable interpreting policy, making informed decisions, and partnering with leadership without operating in isolation. You will partner directly with the HR leader and play a key role in absorbing operational workload, strengthening execution discipline, and building structure where it is needed. This role offers meaningful responsibility and long-term growth potential for someone who demonstrates strong ownership, sound judgment, and collaborative leadership. This position will contribute in the following ways: Employee Relations & Field Leadership Support • Lead employee relations matters, investigations, and corrective action processes with professionalism, consistency, and sound judgment, • Provide practical, business-aligned guidance to operations leaders while assessing organizational risk and potential liability exposure, • Interpret and apply company policies consistently to ensure fairness, defensibility, and compliance, • Evaluate situations through a risk mitigation lens, identifying potential legal or compliance implications before issues escalate, • Ensure documentation is thorough, timely, and defensible, with clear rationale and supporting facts, • Drive matters to clear resolution, communicate outcomes effectively, and reinforce accountability at the appropriate level, • Oversee TDI, WC, FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other leave administration processes, • Manage the ADA interactive process, including evaluation of reasonable accommodations and assessment of undue hardship considerations, • Coordinate claim reporting, return-to-work follow-up, and required documentation, • Ensure compliance with Hawai‘i employment laws, federal regulations, and internal policies, • Maintain organized, audit-ready case files with clear documentation of decision-making rationale, • Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes in partnership with office and administrative managers, • Provide guidance to ensure consistent execution of HR processes across locations, • Maintain accurate HRIS records and documentation integrity, • Develop, update, and maintain structured systems for HR documentation, processes, and procedures, • Standardize investigation templates, workflows, and corrective action processes, • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement practical, aligned solutions in coordination with field and administrative partners, • Contribute to reporting on turnover, workforce trends, and HR metrics, • Work effectively with all levels of the organization, from field employees to executive leadership, • Balance employee concerns with business realities and operational priorities, • Collaborate cross-functionally while maintaining clear ownership of responsibilities, • Take ownership of delegated initiatives and deliver measurable results, • Contribute to building consistency and discipline across entities, • 5 - 7 years progressive HR experience, • Strong employee relations and investigation experience, • Experience in construction or other field-based, multi-site environments preferred, • Demonstrated experience with employment compliance and policy interpretation, • Sound judgment and ability to operate independently while remaining aligned with leadership, • Strong collaboration skills and professional communication style, • Ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization, • Highly organized with strong documentation discipline, • Solutions-oriented, accountable, and steady under pressure, • Clear and consistent policy interpretation across entities, • Thorough, defensible, and audit-ready documentation, • Measurable reduction in reactive escalations, • Strong partnership with operations and executive leadership, • Structured, scalable HR processes, • Increased stability and execution capacity within the HR function
