Job Description Children’s Culinary Instructor & Classroom Assistant (Part-Time + Seasonal Camps) Young Chefs Academy – Austin & San Antonio For twenty years, Young Chefs Academy has led the way in teaching children the joy and value of cooking. Our hands-on classes inspire confidence, creativity, independence, and real-life kitchen skills. We are hiring both Lead Culinary Instructors and Classroom Assistants for: • Weekly after-school & evening classes, • Weekday homeschool classes, • Weekday field trip programs for schools & community groups, • Weekend birthday parties & family workshops, • School Break Camps & Summer Camps Whether you’re a teacher, culinary enthusiast, camp counselor, or energetic student who loves working with kids — we have a place for you on our team! Positions Lead Culinary Instructor (Ideal for Teachers, Camp Counselors, Group Leaders, or Experienced Classroom Leaders) You’ll: • Teach hands-on cooking classes for ages 4+ (classes range from 60-90 minutes), • Lead field trips and homeschool programs using the Young Chefs Academy Franchise curriculum, • Manage classroom flow and keep students engaged and safe while also connecting one on one, • Lead birthday parties, workshops, and special events, • Guide students in developing real culinary and life skills, • Foster a positive, supportive learning environment Culinary Classroom Assistant (Great for High School & College Students Looking for Experience Working with Kids) You’ll: • Support the instructor during classes, field trips, and camps, • Help students follow recipes and use tools safely, • Prep ingredients and cooking stations, • Assist with kitchen & location cleanup and organization, • Help create a fun, welcoming, confidence-building environment Schedule We offer flexible part-time scheduling. Typical shifts include: Classes: • Weekdays after school/evenings (approx. 4:30pm–8:30pm), • Homeschool classes during weekday daytime hours, • Field trips on weekday mornings/early afternoons Parties & Workshops: • Primarily weekends (daytime and early evening) School Break Day Camps (Summer, Spring Break, Thanksgiving & Winter): What We’re Looking For • A genuine love for working with children, • Positive energy, warmth, and patience, • Leadership skills and confidence (for Lead Instructors), • Reliable, responsible, and good communication skills, • Interest in cooking — no professional culinary background required, • Experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring kids is a bonus, • Age 16+ (Assistants) / 21+ preferred for Lead Instructors, • A creative, fun, supportive work environment, • Competitive pay (based on role + experience), • Highly flexible scheduling, • Opportunities for advancement and increased responsibility, • Make a real impact — help kids build confidence, curiosity & life skills Locations • Austin (Oakhill – next to Via 313), • Upload your resume
