    Job Description: Senior Director of Advocacy Department: Advocacy Reports to: VP of Advocacy Employment Status: Full Time/ Exempt (40 hours/ week) Salary: $109.273/ year Location: Based in New York City with regular travel to New York City, Albany, and occasional travel to Washington D.C. and throughout New York State. This position is mostly on-site, with a requirement of being in the office 4 days per week and remote 1 day per week. Position Overview The Senior Director of Advocacy plays a key leadership role within the organization, working closely with the Vice President of Advocacy and the NYIC’s Advocacy and Policy teams. This position directs campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels; leads statewide member engagement on advocacy issues; and supports political engagement strategies. The Senior Director will also oversee the Organizing and Strategy Team, aligning its work with the NYIC’s immigration policy agenda. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leadership • Under the supervision of the Vice President of Advocacy and in collaboration with the Policy team, define advocacy goals and priorities, develop comprehensive campaign strategies, timelines and execution., • Lead the Organizing and Strategy team to implement successful member-driven advocacy campaigns., • Develop local advocacy initiatives in key regions across the state in collaboration with the Policy team., • Ensure clear and coordinated campaign goal-setting across federal, state, and local levels., • Oversee development, tracking & management of priority campaigns at all government levels. Organization • Coordinate the integration of the Organizing and Strategy team with other Advocacy department teams, and broader organizational initiatives., • Collaborate with the Communications team to support media outreach in regional campaigns., • Serve as spokesperson for NYIC and its advocacy campaigns., • Lead rapid response efforts as needed., • Engage local stakeholders and funders and support development efforts through proposal writing and reporting., • Collaborate with the Development team to identify fundraising strategies and programs aligned with advocacy efforts. Relationship Management • Cultivate a strong, statewide of multi-ethnic and geographically diverse member organizations., • Lead efforts in engaging NYIC member organizations to take leadership roles in advocacy and organizing efforts., • Oversee engagement of NYIC member participation in regional convenings across the state., • Supervise and support advocacy efforts, including lobbying efforts, across federal, state, and local levels., • Work with the VP of Advocacy, Political Engagement and NYIC Executive Leadership to ensure successful coordinated outreach and relationships building with electeds on city, state and Federal levels., • Develop and manage strategic partnerships with allies and external stakeholders. Management • Supervise the Organizing and Strategy staff, as well as volunteers and allies across the regions., • Manage staff, provide coaching and feedback, and support professional development., • May occasionally move and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or less. Qualifications • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in advocacy including substantial campaign management and community organizing experience., • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience., • Strong understanding of coalition-building and grass top organizing., • Knowledge of and deep commitment to social justice and immigrant justice., • Working knowledge of immigration policy and issues impacting diverse immigrant communities across New York State., • Ability to manage multiple projects independently under tight deadlines, • Exceptional organizational skills, communication and interpersonal skills., • Adaptability, strong team player and attention to detail., • Proficient in a language spoken in immigrant communities (e.g. Spanish, Chinese, Creole, Arabic, Russian or other language(s) ) is a strong asset., • Must be legally authorized to work in the US. Salary: $109,273*** In addition to a competitive salary, NYIC offers a full benefit plan, unlimited vacation time after 90 days of employment, paid sick time, commuter benefits and a comprehensive retirement plan. **The NYIC has a transparent and equitable salary structure. Position Summary The Temporary Delivery Driver & Participant Transporter is an essential member of the CBN team, responsible for delivering meals and transporting older adult participants safely and respectfully between centers and on scheduled excursions. This individual will serve all CBN locations and be entrusted with both logistical coordination and compassionate care. The role includes backup support for Porter duties and requires exceptional reliability, interpersonal sensitivity, and compliance with safety protocols. Essential Duties Safely operate both a company SUV and a 15-passenger van to: • Deliver meals to homebound seniors across all CBN service areas, • Transport participants between program centers and designated trip locations, • Support group excursions, including grocery shopping and cultural outings, • Maintain an accurate transport log and ensure timely pickups/drop-offs, • Assist participants entering and exiting vehicles while promoting independence, • Communicate trip details to participants in advance (time, location, expectations), • Serve as a backup driver for Porter duties in the company vehicle as needed, • Help with loading/unloading supplies and equipment during deliveries or events, • Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness of transport vehicles Competencies • Trustworthiness and discretion in transporting vulnerable older adults, • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, • Punctuality and accountability in meeting scheduled routes, • Familiarity with urban navigation (UES, Roosevelt Island, Midtown, etc.), • Ability to assist older adults with mobility and accessibility needs, • Professional demeanor when engaging with clients, staff, and external vendors, • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing needs, • Sensitivity to cultural and linguistic diversity, • Additional Requirements, • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required (15-passenger bus), • Clean driving record (background check required), • Ability to lift up to 35lbs and assist with physical activities when needed, • Willingness to navigate stairs and walk long distances during delivery shifts, • Comfort driving large passenger vehicles in NYC traffic, • Proficient in English; Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Korean) preferred, • Strong commitment to serving older adults with patience and care, • Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Physical Stamina: Ability to carry light supplies and equipment (up to 35 pounds) when visiting clients' homes or community locations. Must also be able to assist with light physical activities when necessary. Office Environment Mobility: Ability to navigate and work within an office building with a basement and up to 3 floors, with or without elevator access. This requires the capacity to climb stairs multiple times a day while carrying light office supplies or case files and the endurance to move between floors as needed for meetings or accessing various resources within the building.
