Job DescriptionJob Title: Production Associate Job Description The Production Associate supports a high-volume manufacturing facility by operating equipment, monitoring production processes, and performing visual quality inspections. In this role, you work across multiple departments within glass manufacturing, receive cross-training on different production lines, and contribute directly to the safe, efficient, and accurate production of automotive glass products. Responsibilities • Operate production and manufacturing machines in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines., • Monitor the manufacturing process to ensure consistent quality, efficiency, and adherence to production standards., • Perform visual quality inspections on glass products to identify defects or irregularities and take appropriate action when issues arise., • Support general production and assembly activities on the production line as needed., • Handle packaging of finished products, ensuring items are properly packed, labeled, and prepared for shipment or further processing., • Use basic hand tools and measuring tools, such as tape measures, to complete production and assembly tasks accurately., • Work in various departments within the plant, including fabrication, float, and other specialized lines, as assigned., • Adapt to cross-training opportunities to support multiple aspects of glass manufacturing, including windshields, side windows, and sunroof production., • Follow all safety protocols, housekeeping standards, and company policies to maintain a clean and safe work environment., • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals, communicate issues, and support continuous improvement., • Lift and move materials or products weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily production activities.Essential Skills, • High school diploma or GED required., • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis., • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to work with hand tools., • Experience in general production or general labor in a manufacturing environment., • Ability to perform assembly and assembly line work., • Experience with machine operation in a production or manufacturing setting., • Ability to perform visual inspection and quality checks., • Basic ability to use a tape measure and other simple measuring tools., • Capability to work flexible shifts, including potential assignment to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift based on operational needs.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in packaging within a manufacturing or production environment., • Background in automotive or glass manufacturing is beneficial., • Comfort working in a union environment with potential shift changes based on seniority and operational requirements., • Willingness to be cross-trained across multiple departments and production lines., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality., • Reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality., • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented production setting.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an automotive glass manufacturing facility with a union environment. The plant includes multiple departments such as fabrication, float, and specialized lines for windshields (EPBL), side windows (HST), and sunroofs (TL3). Shifts vary by department, with fabrication operating on 8-hour shifts and float operating on 12-hour shifts. Current hiring focuses on 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM), with training conducted on 1st shift; however, flexibility to work 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM) and 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:30 AM) is important due to potential shift changes. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with regular use of manufacturing machinery, hand tools, and measuring tools. Employees work on their feet, handle glass products, and follow strict safety and quality procedures in a structured industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.14 - $19.14/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
