Job DescriptionBenefits: • 401(k), • 401(k) matching, • Bonus based on performance, • Health insurance, • Opportunity for advancement, • Paid time off, • Training & development JOB SUMMARY: Uses hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components, fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Analyze engineering draws, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations., • Develop templates & models for welding projects, using mathematical calculations based on blueprint information., • Position, align, secure parts & assemblies prior to assembly by using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers., • Prepare al material surfaces to be welded, ensuring there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter., • Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits. Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding & submerged arc welding., • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Join pats such as beams &steel reinforcing rods in buildings, bolting and riveting as necessary WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities: • MIG & TIG welding, • Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job., • Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment., • Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage., • Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded., • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area., • Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered., • Make sure floor is free of obstructions, maintain good housekeeping., • Maintain orderly tool area., • Follows all safety rules., • Understands and follows Job Safety Analysis for this position., • Wears welding helmet and eye protection and any other designated PPE., • Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:, • Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair. This includes Architectural metals: Aluminum Extrusions, Aluminum Plate-Light (.020) through Heavy (.125) gauge, Plain Carbon Steel Gauge Material ranging from 10-ga. To 28-ga, Stainless 304 / 316 light through heavy gauge, • Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints., • Fit and weld according to drawing specifications, • Successful weld test required., • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms., • Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments., • Detail-oriented and consistent., • Works well as a productive member of a team., • Ability to properly maintain and perform basic repairs on equipment., • Must be able to read a tape measure, • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination., • Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead., • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work., • Must be able to see details at close range.

Must complete Welder Training Programby passing a GMAW 2G qualification weld test that meets visual and bend testing acceptance criteria. As an applicant, a 2F Evaluation will be administered to determine skillset and knowledge base before being offered the Welder Trainee position.

Assist and instructs other welders and fitters when needed to overcome deficiencies in quality and/or productivity. Uses the Flux Cored Arc Welding process to tack weld various small components to round or formed shafts to make a pole assembly for the welder to weld.

The Welder will weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment.
