Job Description POSITION TITLE: Revenue Cycle Specialist POSITION STATUS: Full-time (40 hours/week), Hourly POSITION LOCATION: Peoria Service Center, 507 E. See the Impact: Position Objective: The Revenue Cycle Specialist reduces bad debt and improves daily collection with timely, accurate payment posting and timely transfers to second insurance and clients. The specialist also bills primary and secondary insurance and sends client invoices. Job Functions • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle Leadership to optimize revenue-generating strategies., • Review deposits from bank reports and add batches to client billing software., • Post and balance client payments and update invoices., • Manage and submit primary and secondary claims., • Review underpayment and no payment and take collection action., • Manage denials, employing strategic approaches to promptly analyze and address billing discrepancies., • Participate in internal audits and quality reviews. Marginal Responsibilities • All other duties as assigned. Education/Experience Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent is required., • Experience in medical coding and familiarity with Early Intervention, Medicaid, and managed care is preferred., • Experience in revenue cycle management, medical billing, or a similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred. Competency Requirements • Knowledge of revenue cycle processes and understanding of insurance procedures., • Knowledge of various payers’ explanations of benefits and how to identify what transfers to patients., • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills., • Ability to work in a high-volume patient environment, with a results-driven focus and attention to detail., • Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team, prioritizing tasks effectively., • Customer-centric approach with adept conflict resolution skills, flexibility, and adaptability to changing work dynamics., • Proficient in data entry and familiar with coding principles and relevant software tools (electronic health record systems, electronic pay posting, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software). Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Must have visual ability sufficient to read and complete written correspondence, reports, etc., and computer screen information., • Frequent use of hands to grasp, handle, or feel., • Regular standing, walking, sitting, and reaching., • Ability to lift and/or carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds., • Ability to drive to all Easterseals centers and service sites within a 100-mile radius, as needed. Work Environment • Routinely works in an office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature., • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Compensation and Benefits: The expected pay range for this position is $16.00 to $19.00 per hour. The actual rate offered will be based on a variety of individualized factors, including relevant experience, role responsibilities, qualifications and credentials, talent availability and specialization, and organizational needs.
