Founded in 2023 and based at the Centre Européen de Sciences Quantiques (CESQ) in Strasbourg, we develop MIMIQ (one of the most advanced quantum emulators in the world, letting engineers design and test quantum programs in software, at scale, before touching real hardware) and the Quantum Logical Unit (QLU), the control framework that keeps neutral-atom quantum systems stable enough to deploy beyond the lab. MIMIQ is already used by leading research groups and enterprises across Europe, Asia and North America, with deployments and validations alongside hardware pioneers such as QuEra and Quantinuum. In 2026 we were acquired by BTQ Technologies (Nasdaq: BTQ), a Canadian quantum-security company, and QPerfect is now BTQ’s European R&D hub, the place where the group’s integrated, end-to-end quantum stack, from post-quantum cryptography to fault-tolerant computing, is being built. We are a young, multilingual, deeply technical team, now backed by a listed group, and we are scaling fast. We need someone to help build the operational foundation underneath that growth. The role Reporting to the CEO, you keep the company’s money, operations and admin running cleanly so our scientists and engineers can stay focused on the work only they can do. You’ll be the person who makes sure finance is under control, the office and our processes just work, and our coordination with the wider BTQ group is reliable. It’s broad, hands-on, and a genuine build. One week you’re tightening the cash-flow file with our accountant and preparing a grant report; the next you’re onboarding a researcher relocating from abroad, renegotiating an insurance contract, and helping pull together the pack for a board meeting. You won’t do all of it alone: you work with an external accountant, a payroll provider, external legal counsel, and the BTQ group’s finance, HR and comms functions. Your job is to own the rhythm and make sure nothing slips, not to be a one-person back office. If you like ownership, variety, and bringing order to a fast-moving company, this will suit you. What you will ownThe money is clear and on time • Run accounts payable and accounts receivable end to end, and keep our cash-flow reporting accurate and current., • Own budget follow-up and act as the day-to-day liaison with our external accountant and payroll provider: they run the books and payroll; you keep the loop tight., • Coordinate grant reporting (Bpifrance, EU programmes) and the Crédit d’Impôt Recherche, working with our accountant and advisors., • Assemble the numbers behind investor and BTQ group reporting (the CEO owns the narrative; you make the pack reliable). The company runs smoothly • Keep the office, suppliers, insurance and IT equipment running so no one loses time to friction., • Design and maintain the internal processes a fast-growing company needs, and keep them simple., • Support legal and HR administration with our external counsel, and help us prepare for compliance milestones such as ISO 27001 as we mature., • Coordinate the logistics of the events we attend or host, and the occasional internal gathering (content, comms and PR sit with the BTQ group). People land well and the group stays aligned • Own HR administration, contract administration and a smooth, welcoming onboarding for every new joiner., • Coordinate recruitment logistics and the immigration / visa process (Passeport Talent, ICT permits) for our international hires., • Be the reliable operational interface into the BTQ group: reporting cadence, board and leadership prep, and the small things that keep two entities working together. Your first 6–12 months might look like 1. A cash-flow file the CEO can trust at a glance, and a clean monthly rhythm with the accountant., 2. Onboarding that makes a researcher arriving from abroad feel set up and at home in week one., 3. A lightweight, documented set of internal processes, so the company can keep scaling without everything routing through one desk., 4. A flagship conference or hosted event run smoothly end to end, and a steady comms cadence with the group., 5. A dependable reporting and coordination loop with the BTQ group. Who you are • At least 5 years across operations, office management, finance administration, HR operations or a startup-generalist role, ideally in a startup, scale-up or other fast-moving environment., • Genuinely comfortable with numbers: you can build and own a cash-flow file, read a budget, and hold your own with an accountant., • Fluent in French and English (English is our working language; French for administration, suppliers and authorities)., • Highly organised and autonomous: you turn ambiguity into structure and close loops without being chased., • A natural first point of contact for the team: clear, reliable, and easy to work with., • Comfortable wearing a communications and events hat: you can make an event run end to end and represent QPerfect well to partners and visitors., • Pragmatic about compliance: you respect French labour and admin realities but find the simplest workable path. Nice to have • German (the Basel – Freiburg – Karlsruhe corridor is part of our world)., • Exposure to deeptech, R&D or research environments, public grants (Bpifrance / EU), or international / cross-border operations., • Experience supporting a company through a transition: acquisition, fundraising, or rapid headcount growth.
