Robert Half are very working in partnership with a well-established organisation seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join its finance team in Northampton. This is a key position within the business, responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, supporting planning cycles, and providing commercial insight to senior stakeholders. The role sits within a small finance team and offers hybrid working. Role Purpose The Senior Management Accountant will act as a finance business partner, responsible for producing accurate and timely financial information, supporting decision-making, and driving financial performance across assigned areas of the business. The role requires strong ownership of reporting, planning, and control processes, along with the ability to challenge stakeholders and improve financial outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Business partner with stakeholders across multiple areas of the business, • Own monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis and forward-looking commentary, • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles, including scenario analysis, • Deliver management accounts within tight reporting deadlines (typically within 3 working days), • Provide clear financial insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders, • Support audit processes and act as a key finance contact for external auditors, • Own balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations and controls, • Support capital expenditure processes, including business case review and tracking, • Identify risks, opportunities, and improvements across financial processes and reporting, • Support continuous improvement in reporting, systems, and controls, • Provide ad-hoc analysis and project support as required Candidate Profile • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA or equivalent), • Strong background in management accounting or finance business partnering, • Experience working in complex or fast-paced environments desirable, • Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and analytical capability, • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP or similar) desirable, • Strong communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders, • Highly organised with ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities, • Commercial mindset with a proactive and improvement-focused approach, • Comfortable working in a hands-on team environment Additional Information • Hybrid working available, • Small finance team environment, • Broad exposure to senior stakeholders, • Strong ownership and accountability within role Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
