As a Handyman , you'll play a key role in maintaining safe, clean, and welcoming residential buildings in Birmingham, helping tenants feel proud of where they live every day.This opportunity is with a well-respected housing provider that puts tenants at the heart of everything it does. Working across three residential buildings in Birmingham City Centre, you'll join a supportive Neighbourhood Services team and enjoy a varied, hands-on role where you can make a visible difference to people's lives.I'd love to hear from anyone who has worked as a Handyman, Property Maintenance Operative, Caretaker, Estate Operative, Building Maintenance Technician, Facilities Operative, or in a similar maintenance role.As a Handyman, you will be: Carrying out scheduled building safety checks and inspectionsCompleting a range of minor repairs and maintenance tasks across communal areasUndertaking basic carpentry, painting, decorating, and general property upkeepResponding to maintenance issues to ensure buildings remain safe and well-presentedRemoving rubbish, hazards, and waste from communal areasSupporting basic gardening and external maintenance dutiesReporting and monitoring communal repairs and maintenance requirementsWorking closely with contractors, tenants, and colleagues to maintain high service standardsSupporting continuous improvements across the residential buildingsI'd love to speak to anyone who has: Experience delivering excellent customer servicePrevious experience as a Handyman, Caretaker, Maintenance Operative, or in a similar practical roleConfidence working with tenants, contractors, and colleaguesExperience carrying out routine inspections and following health and safety proceduresStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads effectivelyBasic IT skills for recording inspections and maintenance updatesA full UK driving licenceKnowledge of health and safety, COSHH, and safe working practices, or a willingness to learnExperience within housing, property maintenance, facilities management, or construction environmentsThis Handyman role is offering the following benefits: Monday to Friday working pattern with no evenings or weekends25 days annual leave plus Bank HolidaysOption to purchase an additional 5 days annual leaveAnnual leave increasing to 30 days with serviceAccess to employee discounts through the Rewards PortalMatched pension contributions up to 8%Life AssuranceMedicash healthcare benefitsOngoing training, qualifications, and career development opportunitiesOpportunity to work for an organisation recognised as a Sunday Times Best Places to Work employerLocation & Travel Based in Birmingham City Centre, this role is easily accessible by public transport, with Birmingham New Street, Moor Street, and Snow Hill stations all within easy reach.
